were accepted on a 'Wait List' basis. Luckily, we've been able
to locate and acquire enough inventory in the past few days to
fill our existing orders. We also have a few additional pieces
available, first come first served, at the original issue price

Chris Amon, Scuderia Ferrari and a Year of Living Dangerously
by John Julian.
The Author takes a fresh look at one of
racing's most memorable years through the eyes of Chris Amon,
the young New Zealander who had just joined the Ferrari team.
Amon has long been a favorite of true racing enthusiasts. While
he's often noted for his hard luck-in a thirteen-year F1 career
he never won a championship Grand Prix-among knowledgeable fans
and fellow drivers he is still universally respected for his
speed, skill, and sportsmanship on the track.

10/26/13 UPDATE: Far and away the most popular 1/43 scale model
of 2013 has been Spark's
#0 Nissan Deltawing in 2012 LeMans livery. Demand overwhelmed
production when the model was released last summer (Trust me,
there was a lot of behind the scenes deal making going on to
get our advance orders filled in a timely fashion!).
Although several additional versions of
this radical new design have been announced (CLICK
HERE), demand for the LeMans version has been strong enough
that Spark has announced one final production run. A deadline of Wednesday, October
30 has been set for dealers to submit
their additional requirements.
If you missed out on the Deltawing last
summer, please place your order by Wednesday.
10/12/13 UPDATE: Just released. Our first shipment is on the way:
Demons - Porsche and the Targa Florio
by Michael Keyser, Mark Koense & Enzo Manzo
Forever hailed as the world's last true
road race, the legendary Targa Florio in Sicily was first held
in 1906 on a 148 km (92 mile) circuit that twisted and turned
though the Madonie mountains east of Palermo, passing through
a number of small, picturesque villages before running along
the Mediterranean coast and back to the start/finish line. Each
year, for one spectacular spring day, this tortuous course, laid
out on the island at the toe of the boot of Italy, was the focus
of the entire racing world.
There was simply nothing quite like racing
exotic sports cars around narrow island roads lined with over
half a million race crazy Italians who, together with Sicily's
spectacular backdrop and the circuit's challenging characteristics,
created the magical ambiance that made the Targa one of the most
famous races in the sport's history. And no other car won this
grueling event more times than Porsche.
Racing Demons Porsche and the Targa Florio for the first
time brings together the many Porsches that raced in the Targa
Florio, from the lone privately entered 356 Cabriolet that started
the race in 1953, to the works Martini 911 RSR, which won the
last ever Targa twenty years later, marking Porsche's eleventh
victory in Sicily.
At the wheel of the many legendary Porsches that were raced in
the Targa during the span of two decades, were some of the top
drivers of the 50s, '60s and '70s, such as Umberto Maglioli,
Edgar Barth, Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Jo Bonnier, Gerhard
Mitter, Rolf Stommelen, Vic Elford, Brian Redman, Jo Siffert,
Herbert Müller, and Gijs van Lennep.
This unique book contains more than 500 black and white and color
photographs, many never published before, including a number
of images unearthed from the Porsche factory's archive in Stuttgart,
and a broad selection taken by photographers living in Sicily
during the years the race was held. Each tells its own fascinating
Racing Demons Porsche and the Targa Florio is the definitive
story of one of the world's greatest marques taking on one of
the most challenging circuits of the twentieth century, and crossing
its finish line first more times than any other manufacturer.
Fasten your seat belts and hang on. You'll enjoy the ride.

10/5/13 UPDATE: Some good news for those of you who have been
patiently waiting for one of the best photo books we've ever
this year, we offered two excellent new photo books by ace German
racing photographer Rainer Schlegelmilch. Both were published
by a company that no longer distributes their product line here
in the US. We were assured by one of our European sources that
they could supply both titles last spring. Unknown to them, one
of those books, 'Sportscar
Racing 1962-1973' had already sold out in their country
and numerous attempts at acquiring them direct from the publisher
(by us and them) proved unsuccessful.
This week, we've been informed that our
supplier has been able to secure a few cases of this impressive
540 page photo history book, allowing us to fill our existing
orders. Unfortunately, due to the incredibly high cost to bring
the books in from Europe (they weigh over 7 pounds each - without
packaging), we will have to adjust our original price in order
to cover actual shipping costs.
Last spring, when we imported the other
Schlegelmilch book, '50 Years of Formula One Photography' our
airfreight costs ran as high as $30 per copy. Those of you who
paid $59.95 got a real bargain on the best Formula One photo
book ever produced!
We will be giving those of you who have
orders on file for 'Sportscar Racing 1962-1973' first crack at
these books. All of you will be notified by the end of the week.
If there are any copies left, we will relist the book on our
