'Me and My Shadow' by Nicholas A. Watts

$195.00

A Limited Edition of 25 Giclee Prints

Each copy signed by VIC ELFORD & DON NICHOLS

Perhaps the most radical design to take to the track during the 'anything goes' Can Am series was the original AVS Shadow, penned by Trevor Harris for Don Nichols' Advanced Vehicle Systems and driven - just once - by one of the most versatile drivers of the era, Englishman Vic Elford.

After a less than successful debut with George Follmer behind the wheel, 'Quick Vic' drove a redesigned, low profile AVS Shadow in the 1970 Mid Ohio Can Am until vibrations caused by the loss of wheel weights made driving the already nervous machine virtually impossible. After Vic's hasty exit, the 'roller skate' was retired and designer Peter Bryant was brought on board to lead the reborn Shadow team to better days. Still, the original AVS Shadow remains one of the most innovative and talked about machines of that celebrated era.

This dramatic Nicholas Watts image is being produced in a strict limited edition of just 25 giclee prints on 300 gram paper. Each print measrues approximately 27.7" x 18" and is hand signed by both Vic Elford and Don Nichols and is also signed and numbered by the Artist. Signing photographs will be printed on a Certificate of Authenticity.

Available early February 2011.
