However, it was no easy win for Davies. With riders like Supersport veteran Fabien Foret ready to pounce on any misfortune for the Yamaha rider, like at Imola, Davies needed to be at his best all year. There were also outstanding performances from Gino Rea, Broc Parkes, returning to race-winning form for the first time since 2008, and the incredible David Salom who, despite no wins, finished runner-up with an almost unbelievable consistency which saw hum finish every race, and never lower than eighth!
