Back when we started The Motorsport
Collector in June of 1985, most of our featured product lines
were Limited Edition art prints, many of which were autographed
by the world's top racing drivers. We believed then, and we believe
now that autographed limited edition artwork was one of the most
effective and beautiful ways to preserve the history of our great
sport. In addition, we feel that signed prints are among the most
satisfying racing 'collectibles' an enthusiast could acquire.
Over the years, our business has diversified into other areas,
but my first love has always been the work of the world's top
racing artists. With the launch of this page, I hope to focus
attention on TMC's large collection of motorsport art and the
latest releases of our favorite artists.

UPDATE
Colin Carter's latest painting is 'Sir
Jackie' and will be available in both canvas giclee and paper
litho editions in November. Details HERE.
MAY 18, 2004 UPDATE
Colin Carter's latest painting, 'The Final Victory'
commemorates Ayrton Senna's win at the 1993 Australian Grand Prix
in the McLaren Ford MP4/8. The image is available as a signed
and numbered (500) 28" x 36" litho on paper ($150.00)
or as a giant 3' x 4' giclee on canvas ($995.00). A maximum
of 100 signed and numbered giclees will be produced. Call for
details.
MAY 4, 2004 UPDATE
In our opinion, 'Andretti Champion'
is the nicest and perhaps most collectible serigraph from Randy
Owens in several years. Produced in an edition of 135 to commemorate
the 25th Anniversary of Mario Andretti's 1978 World Championship,
several copies remain at the issue price of $325.00. Each
copy is signed by Mario Andretti.
'Indycar Champions' by Alan Fearnley was published at the height of 'Mansell-mania'
in 1993. The edition of 1000 prints (signed and numbered by the
Artist) was available in several configurations. The entire edition
was signed by 1992 World Champion / 1993 CART Champion Nigel Mansell
and most other copies were also signed by car owner Carl Haas.
A few very expensive copies were also signed by Paul Newman. This
particular print (945/1000) is signed by Mansell only. We believe
it was originally owned by Carl Haas, who received a small quantity
of prints in return for his signature when the print was published.
Most of Fearnley's pit scene prints from that period were quick
sell outs, and 'Indycar Champions' was no different. If you click
the photo below left, you'll see a close up of the center of the
image. Car owners Paul Newman and Carl Haas can be seen at the
top right of the image. The photo below right shows Mansell's
signature. $450.00.
We recently acquired two original theatre
posters from racing films of the 1950's. Both are 'half sheet'
posters, measuring 22" x 28" on heavy stock and neither
has been folded..
Above: 'Johnny Dark' was Tony Curtis's racing epic
released in 1954. Although the poster has a small tear on the
left border and a bit of damage in the lower left corner, the
image is near mint and the colors are extremely bright for a 50
year old poster. Inquire.
Below: Roger Corman's 'The Fast and the Furious' was
another 1954 racing film, starring John Ireland and Dorothy Malone
and filmed at the Pebble Beach International Sports Car Races.
Nice graphics on this one as well, with a red Jaguar crashing
through a fence and the legend 'Killer...Outlaw...Death Driver!'
The ideal addition to any office or garage. $225.00 unframed.

MARCH 25, 2004 UPDATE
Since the early 80's, thousands of
racing enthusiasts around the world have collected the Limited
Edition prints of English artist Alan Fearnley. Fearnley's first
release (before Grand Prix Sportique began publishing his work
in 1983), was 'Alan Jones', published in 1980. It is among the
most rare and sought after prints in the Fearnley portfolio. The
scene is Brands Hatch and the 1980 British Grand Prix, which was
won by Alan Jones in a Williams FW07 on his way to the 1980 World
Driving Championship. The entire edition was signed by Alan Jones
and a small (unknown) quantity was also signed by Sir Frank Williams.
This particular print (759/850) is signed by Jones and Williams.
It also carries an beautiful, original Fearnley pencil remarque
and has recently been reframed. A rare opportunity to own a significant
piece of motorsport art!

The Iceman Cometh
by Colin Carter
Kimi Raikkonen salutes his team as
he claims his first F1 victory at the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix.
An impressive season saw him achieve one victory, seven, second-place
finishes and two further podiums, taking his championship challenge
right up to the final race of the season at Suzuka, eventually
losing out to Michael Schumacher by just two points. The "Iceman"
is certainly one to watch as he continues his world championship
ambitions in 2004.
Limited to only 500 copies for sale
worldwide. each copy personally signed, sealed and numbered by
the artist

'Monaco Grand Prix' by Randy Owens
Original Serigraph - 115/135
Professionally Framed
$7,800.00
Perhaps Randy Owens' most famous serigraph
(along with LeMans-The Big Ride) is 'Monaco Grand Prix, produced
in an edition of 135 original serigraphs in 1989 and signed by
the late Ayrton Senna, Jean Alesi, Gerhard Berger and Ricardo
Patrese. It is one of only a few certified Limited Editions signed
by Senna, which has increased the art's desireability and value
tremendously over the past 10 years since Senna's death. They
are rarely offered on the secondary market, so we're pleased to
offer print 115/135 of 'Monaco Grand Prix', custom framed for
with a laquered black wood moulding and tasteful white with black
double mat.

SOLD
We've just acquired a copy of 'Winners' by
Nicholas A. Watts. The limited edition of 850 signed and numbered
prints features a Rothmans Porsche 956 and was hand signed by
Derek Bell and Stefan Bellof and released just before Bellof's
death in 1985.
1/23/04 Update - Several of you have expressed interest in this print
and we currently have a waiting list if other copies become available.
In June of 2003, we conducted a private
autograph session with 1961 World Champion Phil Hill at Watkins
Glen, NY. Among the items we had signed were copies of 'Ferrari Team Mates'
by Alan Fearnley, a limited edition of 850 artist signed prints
published several years ago. Two copies were sent back to England
for Alan Fearnley to remarque. They arrived back here just before
the Holidays and one copy remains (see above). The original Fearnley
painting/print features Ferrari team drivers Phil Hill and Wolfgang
von Trips standing next to the #40 Ferrari 156 Sharknose in the
Monaco pitlane. In his remarque, Fearnley has drawn a side view
of the #36 Sharknose in the tint border of the print. This print
is available for $395.00 plus shipping. We also have a
few Phil Hill signed copies of 'Ferrari
Team Mates' in stock for $175.00
plus shipping. We can commission a remarque on any Alan Fearnley
print for $220.00. Call for details.
