IN STOCK FOR FATHER'S DAY DELIVERY!

In 1968 a pair of Children's books with racing themes appeared in England. They were the true stories of outstanding and stirring achievements by legendary pre-war racers Tazio Nuvolari and Jimmy Murphy. Their stories were written by a popular author of books for boys, Bruce Carter and wonderfully illustrated by award winning artist Raymond Briggs.

First Edition copies of these books are quite rare, with recent asking prices ranging from $100 to $300 each.

A new publisher has obtained the right to reprint these books and has just released them in a beautifully slipcased gift set for just $39.95. Each 9" x 9" book is faithful to the original, printed on acid free paper and features a brightly colored dust jacket.

"Jimmy Murphy and the White Duesenberg" portrays American Jimmy Murphy's fantastic drive to victory in the 1921 French Grand Prix - the first Grand Prix victory by an American car and driver in international racing history.

"Nuvolari and the Alfa Romeo" tells the story of Tazio Nuvolari's brilliant victory over Mercedes and Auto Union in his aging Alfa Romeo P3 in the 1935 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

Although these books were originally intended for boys 7 to 11 years old, racing fans of all ages will enjoy reading and retelling these inspirational stories, brought to life by the exciting artwork of Raymond Briggs.

A wonderful - and inexpensive - addition to the collection of anyone interested in racing history.
