1/18 Scale MINICHAMPS
PORSCHE 904 GTS
In developing the competition car type
904, the so-called Carrera GTS, Porsche pursued a different path,
to produce a competitive vehicle from the very beginning.
Ferdinand Porsche III designed the
body, the first which was manufactured exclusively out of GRP.
The body was produced at the Heinkel aircraft works in Speyer.
The body was bonded to the boxmember frame rails, also a novelty
for Porsche. The Carrera GTS was powered by the 4 cylinder engine
type 587, which produced up to 185 bhp.
Minichamps has produced a wonderful
1/18 scale high detail model of the Porsche 904 GTS featuring
opening doors, hood and engine compartment along with a highly
detailed engine and cockpit.
