In 1965, Jim Clark became the first and
only driver in history to win both the Indianapolis 500 and the
World Driving Championship in a single season. On August 1, Clark
won the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring driving a Lotus 33
Climax. The victory was his sixth straight GP triumph and clinched
both Drivers and Constructors Championships with a 'perfect score'
of 54 points.
