The Lola T-70 that gave Penske Racing its first major victory has been produced by GMP in a Limited Edition of 3504 individually numbered pieces.
Mark Donohue drove this Chevrolet engined T-70 to victory in the US Road Racing Championship event at Kent, Washington on August 7, 1966 to score the first major victory for one of the most successful teams in US racing history.
Many additions and improvements have been made since the last 'pre production' piece (you can still view the photos HERE and HERE) arrived here a couple of months ago, including the addition seat belts and shoulder harness, a nicer steering wheel, fully decaled instruments, improved wheels, a 'riveted' undercarriage, and a tighter fitting rear body.
One additional Penske Lola has been announced for release later in the year. It is the Donohue-Parsons Penske Racing Sunoco Special Lola T-70 Coupe as raced at Daytona in 1969. We are accepted advance orders (also $74.95 each) for this piece as well.
As is the case with ALL GMP models, these pieces are expected to sell out quickly, so reserve your's as soon as possible.
GMP will launch a series of 1/18 scale Can Am McLaren M8's in late 2000. Photos of the first molds can be seen HERE.
