CSX 2137 was one of three 'LeMans Replicas' produced by Shelby American for use as factory team cars in the 1963 US Road Racing Championship. They were the 'transitional' cars that bridged the early competition Cobras that appeared at Sebring that year and the full blown FIA roadsters that competed for the World Championship in 1964. In the hands of Dan Gurney, CSX 2137 became the first Cobra (and the first Ford engined car) to score a victory in an FIA International race (Bridgehampton, September 1963). A month later, Bob Bondurant won the preliminary race for GT cars at the LA Times Grand Prix at Riverside, then finished a respectable 8th in the Times GP itself against some of the world's best drivers in unlimited Group 7 sports racers. GMP has just released this replica of CSX 2137 in the livery of Bondurant's Riverside GT winner in a Limited Edition of 500. The model is also available with a brushed aluminum finish (inquire). The model features an opening hood, doors and trunk (with bungee tie-down), working suspension, gear shifter and impressive detail, fit and finish.
