'Bronco'
Bill Schindler began his racing career in 1932 and started competing
in midget racing with the introduction of the small cars to the
east coast in 1934. A veteran of 3 Indy 500s, he died in an AAA
race in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1952. He was enormously successful
in midgets, winning numerous championships over a 20 year career.
Amazingly, most of his success came after he lost his left leg
in a racing crash in 1936.
