A charmingly graceful body designed by Giulio Alfieri, integrating a light frame (barely 30kg) with more than 200 single pieces of tube. Because of this engineering innovation, the Maserati Tipo 60/61 acuired the legendary nickname 'Birdcage'. 23 'Birdcage' Maseratis were produced from 1959 to 1961.

American 'Lucky' Casner was one of the mosts successful owners of the Tipo 61. In May of 1960, Stirling Moss and Dan Gurney won the 1,000km of the Nurburgring, in pouring rain with this car. Casner and Masten Gregory repeated the feat in 1961.

CMC's 1/18 scale replica of the Gurney/Moss 1960 Nurburgring winning Camoradi (Casner Motor Racing Division) Tipo 61 'Birdcage' is composed of 1,140 individual parts, 507 of which are made of stainless steel, copper and brass.

In our opinion, it's CMC's greatest triumph to date.

Price is $269.00 plus shipping.
