BUICK IN
RACING PORTFOLIO
BY HECTOR LUIS BERGANDI
Back in the late 1980's, the Buick
nameplate was prominent in the 'big leagues' of American auto
racing. NASCAR victories were scored often and stock block Buick
engines were powering some of the fastest cars at the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway. Leading racing artist Hector Luis Bergandi, famous
for his work in Road & Track magazine, was commissioned to
create a portfolio of Limited Edition prints celebrating Buick's
long history in motor sport. Two of the prints in the set were
hand signed by the subject drivers; racing legend Bobby Allison
and the late Jim Crawford.
These Limited Editions disappeared
long ago, but we've recently discovered a set (128/300) in the
TMC archives. The set is in new condition, and available for $450.00 plus
shipping.
Each print is described below.
