Carousel 1
One of the most popular die cast lines
this past year has been Carousel 1 and their series of 1/18 scale
Watson and Kurtis Indy Roadsters. The first two cars in the series
were quick sell outs, with the Parnelli Jones and Bob Sweikert
cars now listed as 'Limited Availability'.
The next release in the series, the
Rodger Ward Watson Roadster that won Indy in 1962, has just arrived
in the US and should reach us soon. We have a few cars available
from our initial order, priced at $99.95.
C-1 showed both the Ward Watson and
the eagerly awaited Bill Vukovich Kurtis Roadster at the Chicago
Hobby Show. The Vukovich car is scheduled for release in February.
As previously reported here, Carousel
1 will begin a series of Gurney Eagles next year with the release
of Bobby Unser's 1975 Indy winning Jorgenson Eagle and Billy Vukovich's
1973 Sugarripe Prune Special.
They will also produce two additional
Watson Roadsters in 2000, the 1960 Jim Hurtibise Travelon Special
and the last roadster to win the Indianapolis 500, A.J. Foyt's
1964 Sheraton Thompson Special.
The Kurtis series will continue with
the 1956 Filter Queen Special of Rodger Ward.
The first release in their previously
announced Corvette series is now scheduled for '4th Quarter '99'.
The price of the Corvettes has been raised to $129.95.
We'll be updating Carousel
1's release schedule and price list shortly in our Die Cast
section. There are some modest price increases on all new releases
after the Ward Watson Roadster.
You can also check the Recent
Additions page for the latest information.
Carousel 1's new Rodger Ward 1962 Indianapolis
500 winning Watson Roadster should arrive at TMC by mid-November.
As with the previous releases in the
series, the engine detail is very good.
One of the highlights of the Carousel
1 line is their unique packaging.
The 1955 Kurtis Roadster of Bill Vukovich
was unveiled at the Chicago Hobby Show.
We expect delivery in February or March
of 2000.
The price of the Vukovich car has been
increased a modest ten bucks to $109.95. It's worth the extra
investment.
