TMC'S SPECIAL
REPORT:
2002
INTERNATIONAL MODEL and HOBBY EXPO
bb

One of the more impressive displays
at this year's Hobby Show was hosted by Georgia Marketing and
Promotions - GMP. Aside from unveiling their new logo, seen above,
GMP had a wide range of new projects on display, including prototypes
of their long-awaited 1/18 scale Penske Trans Am Camaro series,
the next releases in their 1/12 scale Ford GT series, a beautiful
new 1/18 scale Don Prudhomme dragster, a selection of 1/43 and
1/64 scale offerings, some new accessories and a few surprises.

We'll start with the next release in
GMP'S 1/12 scale Ford GT series, the 1966 LeMans winning Ford
GT 40 Mk II driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon (seen above).
As you will recall, there were some last minute problems with
the first release in this series, so the company is rather cautious
about giving exact release dates these days. Contact us for the
'latest' information.
Based on the prototypes we've seen,
the Ford Mk II has a level of detail even higher than the Mk IV.
The 1966 LeMans winner is priced at $489.95 plus shipping.Reservations
are recommended, since the first car in the series sold out within
a couple of weeks of delivery.
We have a full photo set of the Ford
Mk II for you HERE.
A 1/12 scale Gulf Ford GT 40 in 1969
LeMans winning colors is in the works for 2003. A prototype of
that car was also on display (additional photos HERE).

the Ford Mk IV were on display as well. Expect announcements at
a later date.
The first release in GMP's series of
Penske Sunoco Camaros is due late 2002 or early 2003.
It is the #36 Mark Donohue car from
Daytona 1967.

Whether or not you're a hot rod fan,
you're going to love the 1/18 scale Pierson Coupe.

GMP will be participating in the 1/43
scale revival with a great selection of road racing, oval track
and drag racing replicas at reasonable prices.
