12/28/06 UPDATE: Three new pewter / resin sculptures arrived at TMC a few days ago:
Left: Jim Clark's Lotus 49 Cosworth ($79.95). Right: Juan Manuel Fangio's 1957 German Grand Prix winning Maserati 250F ($79.95). Center: Auto Art's 1/12 scale Reims winning Jaguar D-Type ($399.95) and Kyosho's 1/12 scale Ferrari Enzo ($420.00) - (stunning) recent arrivals themselves - are dwarfed by the giant 18 inch wingspan of this pewter coated resin sculpture of the Schneider Trophy winning Supermarine Seaplane ($345.00). Another view is seen at left.
Other items seen in this photo of our front display case include mahogany models of the Bell X-1 (signed by Chuck Yeager - $225.00) and the AVG Curtis P-40 (signed by Tex Hill - $230.00) and the most exclusive item of them all, an Official www.MotorsportCollector.com baseball cap ($17.95).

12/27/06 UPDATE: Now that the big rush is over, it's time to start looking forward to some great new 'stuff' coming in early 2007:
The ACO has released a two volume slipcased set
of reference books to celebrate 100 years of racing at LeMans.
Seventy three runnings of the 24 Hours of LeMans are covered,
along with other various motorcycle and Formula One races. Each
race gets a full report of at least 6 pages in this 700+ page
work (translated to English by David Waldron), well illustrated
by nearly 2,000 archive photographs, illustrations of official
event posters and new paintings by official artist Francois Bruere.
Additional chapters profile great drivers and marques, track changes,
fatal accidents and other significant events. Only 2,500 numbered
copies have been printed. Named December 'Book of the Month' by
Classic & Sports Car, a very limited quantity is due to hit
our shores in late January. $225.00 plus shipping. Pre-orders
recommended.
Autocourse 2006/07 will hopefully arrive after the start of the new year. Sorry for not offering Christmas delivery this year. Between the weak dollar (high air freight costs) and the problems we had with the new publisher last year I felt it was safer to wait. $54.95 plus shipping.
Our first shipment of Motor Sport Calendars sold out right after we mentioned them in our Email Update a couple weeks ago. 'Legends of LeMans' is the theme for 2007, and with three different photos of the Gurney / Foyt winning year of 1967 and the shot of the Howmet Turbine, they didn't last long. A second batch is on the way from the UK and should arrive any day. $65.00 plus shipping.
The two models pictured above are future releases from Spark and Bizarre in 1/43 scale. The Bruce McLaren M6A McLaren Chevy and the Ford GT40 liveried in it's debut race form (the 1964 Nurburgring 1000km race in the hands of Bruce McLaren and Phil Hill) are expected later this winter. Price is expected to be in the $40 range. Reserve these exciting new pieces now. We'll be featuring additional new models from Spark and Bizarre soon.
Aftermarket decals for the 1/18 scale 1982 LeMans winner are now available (for those who bought there cars here only) for $10 a sheet.
More recent additions and coming attractions tomorrow.
We'll be open our regular hours thru Saturday.
Our weekly Email Update will contain several special offers. Subscribe today.
TMC will be closed on Monday, January 1 due to excess partying by the owner the night before.

12/20/06 UPDATE: Last minute arrivals include the 2006 Isle of Man TT DVD ($34.95) and David Tremayne's highly acclaimed 'The Lost Generation' ($54.95). Also, 'Rendezvous' and the Road America DVD are back in stock after the crush of orders following our segment on Paul Brian's 'Drive Chicago' last Saturday morning. Come and get 'em!. 'Automobile Year #54' ($79.00) has cleared customs at ORD and should be delivered this afternoon. As we said earlier, Autocourse will not make it here in time for Christmas. It is expected (along with the new Indy History book) the first week of 2007. Sorry, it was out of our hands.

12/13/06 UPDATE: It's always a special day when a new CMC model arrives. The Stirling Moss 1955 Italian Grand Prix Limited Edition of their stunning Mercedes-Benz W196R is now in stock ($239.00). Check out our extensive photo set HERE.
Our 'Last Minute Gift Ideas' Email will be sent to Subscribers tomorrow. Sign up for our Weekly Email Updates in the box below.

UPDATE: If you are
a fan of 1970s - 1980s Formula One racing, we can strongly recommend
Lorie Coffey's beautiful new tribute to Elio de Angelis, 'Remembering Elio' ($64.95), which arrived at
TMC on Wednesday. The book showcases Elio's many talents in a
unique and colorful format. In addition to being one of the top
drivers in Grand Prix racing, de Angelis was a talented artist
and a concert pianist. Former Lotus teammate Nigel Mansell wrote
the Foreward.
The US distributor informs us that this year's Autocourse 2006/07 Formula One annual will not arrive in the US in time for Christmas delivery. Looks like they'll be in around New Years. If by chance they show up early, we will ship all orders the day they arrive. Demand for this year's book should be high, with the retirement of Michael Schumacher. Reserve your copy early ($54.95).
On the subject of annuals, our Automobile Year #54 shipment is 'in the air' and should arrive from Europe just before Christmas. A few copies from our first shipment are available at $79.00 plus shipping.
As usual, we're working hard to get everything to you in time for the big day.
A while back, Exoto released a Limited Edition (1966 sets) of the Ford GT40 Mk II's that finished 1-2-3 in the 1966 running of the 24 Hours of LeMans. These sets have been listed as 'retired' for several years now and have been valued as high as $2,000. Over the weekend, we aquired a mint-in-box example of this 1966 LeMans set and can offer it at the bargain price of just $1,195.00 (that's about 600 quid for our friends in the UK). Give us a call at 800.722.8630 or 630.515.1440. Will ship world wide.
If you're a Ken Miles fan, we also have GMP's 1/12 scale version of the #1 Ford GT40 Mk II from LeMans '66 in stock for $499.95 plus shipping. Only 500 have been produced.
The 1/43 Spark Lowenbrau Porsches should be here by the weekend. They're nearly sold out. Reserve one today for $39.95. We'll post pre-order information on a few other gems from Spark/Bizarre that are coming soon.
BTW - We have a small quantity of Spark's 1/43 scale 2006 LeMans winning Audi R10 ($39.95) in stock. No time for photos right now.

12/5/06 UPDATE: Carousel 1's excellent 1/18 scale model of Joe Leonard's STP Lotus Turbine is one of our hottest items this Christmas season. It's not too late to order one for Christmas delivery.
Another great commemorative of the memorable 1968 Indianapolis 500 is this Limited Edition pencil print by David Gray, entitled '1968: Unser Battles Leonard'. Each print in the edition of 500 is hand signed by the two stars of that race, Winner Bobby Unser and Pole Sitter Joe Leonard. Bobby Unser scored the first of the Unser clan's 9 Indy victories after Leonard's Turbine faltered with just a few laps to go. Overall print size is 25.75" x 18" and the price is quite reasonable ($75.00 plus shipping) for a 'double signature' print of this type.
