9/28/06 UPDATE: Slowly getting back to normal 'Gallery' mode after our 7 event Road Show season. New arrivals from Minichamps include a pair of 1/43 scale Limited Edition models of the Porsche 917Ks that finished 1-2 in the 1971 24 Hours of LeMans ($44.95 each). They sport the vertical tail fins added for stability on the pre-chicane high speed Mulsanne Straight. The Martini #22 driven by Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep to victory at LeMans that year is one of the best looking racing cars of all time, in my opinion. The second place #19 Gulf Porsche driven by Muller/Attwood is also available, along with lots of other new releases from Minichamps. We'll start posting information on the New Die Cast page later today.
We'll also have photos and other information on GMP's very cool 1/6 scale Limited Edition V-12 Ferrari 250 GTO engine, which is now in stock here at TMC ($499.95). Click the photo below to sample one of the engine's 'special features'. FULL PHOTO SET HERE!
Looking for a copy of 'Emotion Ferrari'? We'll have them in stock in a few days. Give us a call.
Good news for those of you who have been patiently waiting for a CMC Birdcage Maserati: All remaining pre-orders ship today! We actually have a few pieces available for immediate delivery ($245.00). Call Ripley!

9/20/06 UPDATE: As we pack up for our final 2006 Road Show, the return of Champ Car to Road America, we are featuring a series of official ChampCar posters by long time TMC contributing artist Jim Swintal. We'll have them at Elkhart this weekend or you can order in the normal fashion. They look terrific. Click the banner for details.
I'm pleased to announce that we have resumed shipping the excellent 'magazine' DVDs presented by Motorfilms Quarterly. Volumes 15 and 16 have just shipped to subscribers and we have all 16 volumes in stock at this time, each priced at $39.95. We'll post further information on the contents of 15 & 16 when we return from Elkhart.
Good news if you are waiting for your 1/18 scale CMC Birdcage Maserati. All back orders will ship next week. For those of you in the Chicago area, we will give you a call the day they arrive. If you haven't ordered your's yet, we have a few extra pieces priced at $245.00 plus shipping. Without doubt, this is the Model of the Year!
The Gallery will be closed this Saturday but normal 10am - 5pm Saturday hours will resume on September 30. It will be good to spend some time at home!

9/13/06 UPDATE: GMP's latest 1/12 scale Cobra, the 289 USRRC #98 of Shelby American's legendary driver Ken Miles, is now in stock. This Limited Edition of 750 is priced at $499.95 plus shipping. Pre-orders ship today. We have 2-3 pieces still available.
By the way, GMP has just announced a 1/12 scale Limited Edition of just 350 examples of the Ford GT Mk II that Miles co-drove with Denny Hulme at LeMans in 1966. This is the car that was on the losing end of Henry Ford II's desire to stage a dead heat finish. An October release is planned. $499.95 plus shipping. Reserve now.

9/12/06 UPDATE: Back from a beautiful weekend at Watkins Glen with a few items that may interest you. Joel Finn's latest book, 'Sunshine, Speed and a Surprise' ($80.00) is an in-depth look at this country's first World Championship Formula One Grand Prix, held at Sebring, Florida in 1959. The inaugural US Grand Prix was the final race in the 1959 season and decided the World Driver's Championship in favor of Sir Jack Brabham. Brabham's young Cooper teammate, a lad named Bruce McLaren, became the youngest driver to win a Grand Prix that weekend, helping clinch the team's first Constructor's Championship. Over 330 period photos over more than 200 pages tell the complete story of that historic event. We have a few author signed copies available, first come, first served.
Speaking of signed books, Watkins Glen Grand Marshal Derek Bell was kind enough to sign a few copies of John Horseman's biography 'Racing in the Rain' ($49.95) - SIGNED COPIES SOLD OUT and Jeff Zwart's 'Porsche Rennsport' ($149.95) - SIGNED COPIES STILL AVAILABLE for David Bull Publishing over the weekend. We have a few of each available at no additional charge, while supplies last.
Derek signed a few other things for us over the weekend. And, we have a few new Champ Car posters from Jim Swintal. We'll post information on everything later this week.
I'll need another day or so to sort out my emails from the past week. Sorry for any inconvenience.

9/6/06 UPDATE: I hope to see a lot of you at Watkins Glen this weekend for the annual Zippo US Vintage Grand Prix. Jeff will be at the helm here while I'm away. A quick reminder, GMP informs us that their 1/12 scale Ken Miles USRRC 289 Cobra is due to arrive in the US next week. We still have a couple of cars available from our allotment from this Limited Edition of 500 at the issue price of $499.95 plus shipping.
We also have some good news for those of you interested in the Motorfilms Quarterly series of DVDs. It looks like they've solved their duplication issues and we will be able to resume shipping this great series to subscribers (and other interested parties) later this month. Two new MFQ's will be available as will the entire series once again. Details when I return.

SOLD9/2/06 UPDATE: Looking for a copy of 'Jim Clark-Indianapolis Champion'? A matched set (161 / 850) of Michael Turner's classic Jim Clark prints has been added to the Private Collection page. - SOLD

9/1/06 UPDATE: Just in: A book people
have been asking us about all year. You're going to want to spend
a lot of time with this one. 'Formula 1
In Camera 1960-69' ($49.95) is the third in a series
of excellent, full color photo books profiling a particular decade
of Grand Prix racing. If you can get past the excellent cover
photo of Jim Clark's Lotus 33 at Monaco (in color), inside you'll
find 240 pages of rarely seen color photos, beginning with several
color shots of Lance Reventlow's front engined Scarab F1 car and
taking you through the rear engine revolution and three separate
engine formulae in color. Ferrari, Lotus, BRM, Cooper, Brabham,
Honda, McLaren, Eagle and Matra. No wings, high wings and low
wings. From Jack Brabham to Jochen Rindt, from national racing
colors to the Gold Leaf Team Lotus, they're all here, featured
in more than 300 color photographs. Lots of color photos of Jimmy
and Dan. If you're a 60's buff, this is a must have for your library.
Did I mention this book is filled with great color photos? OK,
I'll stop.
You probably saw the banner for the McLaren TAG Porsche engine assembly when you scrolled down to the Recent Additions blog. It's quite an item. You should take a look. If you don't have the asking price for the engine, maybe you'd like a TAG piston or valve set for your desk.
It came to me when I was writing the web text this afternoon that the two TAG engines we have here at TMC are responsible for 24% of that Porsche designed engine's Grand Prix wins. And those wins were in the pre-Mosely 'run the same engine all season or we'll make you drag an anchor around the circuit' era. Fun stuff.
We'll be posting even more interesting 'one off' type items all month. Visit us often.
