9/30/05 UPDATE: The Jo Ramirez and 2004 F1 Technical Analysis books (along with a few other new titles) are now in stock. We also have the 2005 Goodwood Festival of Speed DVD in stock for $34.95.

9/29/05 UPDATE: Late today, we started adding photos of some of the new models that arrived here at TMC while I was running around the country the past few weeks. Watch for LOTS more additions tomorrow and Saturday. Click the Ford GT emblem for the New Die Cast Page.
Among the great new books on the way are the latest Georgio Piola Formula One Technical Analysis from 2004/2005 ($44.95) and what I think will be a fascinating read, 'Jo Ramirez: Memoirs of a Racing Man ($35.00). Both are expected within the week.
More updates tomorrow.
9/28/05 UPDATE: Back from Watkins Glen and our final road show of 2005. After we unpack, we will begin uploading information on a host of new models that have arrived since we hit the road a couple of weeks ago. We'll also have information on some great new books expected to arrive within the week. Visit us often!
We're back to our regular Saturday hours this weekend. We'll be open from 10am to 5pm throughout the off season.
9/19/05 UPDATE: Yet another beautiful race weekend at Road America! Now, if the weather can stay nice for just one more at The Glen......
What am I saying, it'll never happen!
Lap of the Gods on DVD is here. Pre-orders are shipping now. We're bringing a 'moderate' supply with us to Watkins Glen, but hit us early in the weekend to avoid disappointment. We ran into Janos Wimpffen at Elkhart over the weekend and took a quick look at his new book, 'Open Roads and Front Engines'. I've never seen a better photo book anywhere. It took years to assemble the selection of photos from collections around the world and is the first of four such books published as 'companions' to his definative 'Time and Two Seats' history of World Championship Sports Car racing. This book covers the 1950s through 1961. Subsequent volumes will cover the 60s, 70s and 80s. We'll have a copy with us at Watkins Glen this weekend and expect to receive our first shipment by the end of the month. It's may be the best book of a very good year.
Leaving tomorrow for our last road show of 2005. Once again, it's back to The Glen.

9/6/05 UPDATE: The changing of the guard was confirmed over the weekend as Michael Schumacher was eliminated from the 2005 Formula One World Championship after dominating the series and capturing the title for an astounding 5 straight years. Whether or not you are a Michael Schumacher fan, one day we'll all look back on this streak as one of the most incredible feats in the history of sport. On Sunday, Juan Pablo Montoya won his second Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the site of his first Formula One triumph back in 2001. Artist Alan Fearnley immortalized that event, just days after the attacks on September 11, 2001 with a painting called 'Prima Vittoria', which was published as a Limited Edition of 400. Each copy was hand signed by JPM, which made this print one of the fastest sell outs of any Fearnley edition. A nicely framed copy of 'Prima Vittoria' (234/400) is now on display here at Tne Motorsport Collector and available for $650.00 plus shipping. Click the image for a closer look.
9/1/05 UPDATE: Very hectic around here the past few weeks with two out of state 'road shows' (Wisconsin and Kentucky) on consecutive weekends and preparations for a very busy September taking priority since our return. We added some photos (see above) of most of this week's new arrivals and will add additional information (including some great new stuff from Stu Povick) by the weekend.
Assuming there will be enough gasoline available in September, we will be at Watkins Glen for the Zippo US Vintage Grand Prix on September 9-11 and the Historic F1/IRL/Grand Am weekend September 22-25. Just so we don't get lazy, I'll be at Elkhart Lake on September 16-18 for the VSCDA Fall Vintage Festival. With all these road shows packed into the late summer, early fall, we decided to keep our Saturday Gallery Hours on our shorter (10 to 2) schedule until October 1.
As you can see above, MFQ 13 has arrived along with a complete restock of the first 12 Volumes and a new program on the Mini. Now's the time to fill the gaps in your MFQ collection.
For those of you who are getting anxious (as we are), our first shipment of CMC's Maserati 250F is due any day. We will fill your orders in the order in which they were received. A Juan Manuel Fangio 1957 German Grand Prix version is expected later this year. If you have ordered this first version and wish to switch to the Fangio, please let us know today or tomorrow. The Fangio will be priced a bit higher, as the previously released Mercedes Streamliners were.
