9/24/03 UPDATE: As we're packing to leave for Indianapolis, this week's third shipment of new Minichamps models has arrived. Highlights are the 1/43 scale Penske Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 driven by Mark Donohue and George Follmer at Daytona in 1973 and the 1/18 scale Porsche 906LE Longtail that was highly successful at LeMans in 1966. Two new versions of the beautiful 1/43 Porsche 718 RS60 are here as well. No time to shoot our own photos today. Thanks to Minichamps NA for these images. Check out all the new Porsches HERE.
See you at Indy. We'll be in our regular spot in the American Art Clay parking lot on 16th Street. The Gallery will be open (albeit a bit bare) while we're away.

9/22/03 UPDATE: The first of 3 shipments of new Minichamps models to arrive this week features the impressive 1/43 scale Porsche 911 Daytona Victory Set pictured above. Both the Brumos Porsche (1973 Daytona Winner) and the Racer's Group Porsche (2003 Daytona Winner) featured 'weathered' paint jobs and are mounted on a flat, diorama base replicating the finish line at Daytona International Speedway. A Limited Edition piece (2,403) that should sell out quickly at just $89.95 plus shipping. Today's other arrivals include the Gunnar Porsche 911 GT1 ($44.95) that also raced at Daytona this year and the 1/18 scale Jacques Villeneuve BAR Honda 2003 Showcar ($64.95). Photos of all three pieces have been posted to the New Die Cast page. We'll try to post other new Minichamps arrivals later this week, but will be leaving for Indianapolis late Wednesday. Some of the new cars are featured HERE.
If you're doing the 'Pit Walk' at Indy on Thursday, stop by our tent in the America Art Clay parking lot on 16th Street when you're finished. I should be open by noon. The Gallery here in Downers Grove will be open our regular hours all week long. See Jeff for your Slot Car needs!

The Cobra team went on to win the 1965 World Manufacturers Championship. $45.00 plus shipping.

JP MONTOYA9/18/03 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Alan Fearnley's latest limited edition print 'Columbian Magic' will be released in early October. The print depicts Juan Pablo Montoya celebrating his second career victory in the 2003 Monaco Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Michael Schumacher. Each print is to be hand signed by both the artist and Juan Pablo Montoya. Edition size is just 400 prints. Overall print size is 24.8" x 20.8". We expect an issue price of approximately $450.00 plus shipping. Fearnley's last Montoya print was a quick sell out. If Montoya does well at Indy, this print may sell out before the season is decided in Japan. In other words, order early to avoid disappointment!

9/17/03 UPDATE: A restock of the very popular Terriffic Stuff Videos arrived last week and as of today all back orders have been shipped and ALL titles are in stock. Check them out HERE!

9/16/03 UPDATE: More encouraging news from Carousel 1: Above is a photo of their soon to be released 1/18 scale Eagle Weslake Grand Prix car as driven to victory by Dan Gurney in the 1967 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. I understand an early production example appeared at the Hobby Show in Rosemont late in the weekend and looked very good. We expect delivery in October or November. We're still accepting pre orders at $129.95 plus shipping.
AND - word from Carousel 1 is that the Jim Clark 1965 Indy winning Lotus 38 is 'in country' and should clear customs and arrive at C-1 for distribution by October 1.
I hope to start uploading Hobby Show photos later today. One disappointing bit of news is that the new GMP release schedule shows an anticipated release date of 'Second Quarter 2004' for their 1/12 scale Gulf Ford GT #1075, the 1969 LeMans winner. The 1/12 scale Donohue/McLaren 67 LeMans Ford Mk IV (in a very limited run of 500 cars) is expected by year end. We also hope to see their 1/18 scale #6 Mark Donohue 1968 Sunoco Camaro by year end. Reserve now.

We've just updated our 1320, Inc page with all recent arrivals in both the Top Fuel and Flopper Collections.

And we've just added today's new Minichamps
arrivals to the New Die Cast page.

9/15/03 UPDATE: Back from a rare weekend off where we had the opportunity to witness a new (for us) type of racing in Reno, Nevada where the lap speeds exceed 500mph and you don't have to worry about the width of your tire tread. Great stuff! We'll be posting additional Hobby Show photos by Wednesday.
