9/26/01 UPDATE:
Our last update before heading down to Indy for the US GP. The
1/18 scale Johnny Rutherford 1974 Indianapolis 500 winning McLaren
M16 from Carousel 1 arrived this morning. Stunning, perhaps the
best ever from C-1.

9/25/01 UPDATE:
GMP has outdone itself with this fantastic 3 car boxed set of
1/43 scale (yes, we said 1/43 scale) highly detailed Bowes Seal
Fast Specials, as driven by A.J. Foyt. All feature removable hoods
and detailed Offenhauser engines. The Edition is limited to 3,504
sets, with each car bearing a matching serial number. The set
is packaged in a handsome wood display box.
At $69.95, it is perhaps the best bargain on the die cast market today. Go HERE for a complete photo set.
9/24/01 UPDATE: Several new Formula One diecast arrivals today, including the 1/43 Hot Wheels 2001 Presentation Ferrari of Michael Schumacher ($39.95), the 1/43 Minichamps 2001 race version Williams of Montoya and Ralf Schumacher ($34.95 each) and the Minichamps 2001 US Grand Prix Event Cars in both 1/18 ($69.95) and 1/43 ($34.95) scale.

Please note, we will be closed this Thursday, Friday and Saturday due to the USGP. Our Indy display will be in the same location as last year, in the vendor 'village' across 16th Street from the Speedway about 1/2 block east of the Steak and Shake. We're back from the street a little bit, so look for the TMC banner, stop by and say hello.
9/20/01 UPDATE: Breathtaking. That's the only word we have to describe GMP's new 1/12 scale Ford Mk IV, scheduled for release in time for Christmas. The 1967 LeMans winning car, driven by Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt, will be the first release in this long anticipated, ultra detailed series of Ford GT's from GMP. Only 752 examples will be produced. We are now accepting reservations at $489.99 plus shipping. The Andretti / Bianchi 67 LeMans Ford Mk IV will also be produced in an EXTREMELY limited production run of 250. We'll get details to you as soon as possible.

As we mentioned a few days ago, Michael Schumacher has signed the new Alan Fearnley Limited Edition Print 'Just Another Day at the Office' and they will be shipped to us from Europe shortly, as international air freight returns to normal. Do to the special circumstances surrounding this print, we are processing all orders this week. I still have 1 COPY available at $895.00 plus shipping.
I know, I know, 'not another Harvick car!!!' Can't help it, the guy's a star. We have a few of the 1/24 Action 'Taz' cars in stock for $59.95 each. This is the 'Loony Toons' livery carried by Harvick at the recent Monte Carlo 400 at Richmond. 9/17/01 UPDATE: Still no sign of the 1/43 BAR Test Cars (we understand most were rejected by quality control at Minichamps Europe and a new production run has been ordered) but the 2001 BAR Presentation Cars have arrived from our secret offshore suppliers (BAR cars are not licensed for US sale).
We have a limited supply of all four versions in stock : Villeneuve and Panis in both 1/18 ($64.95) and 1/43 ($34.95) scales. Photos of all 4 are posted on the New Release Die Cast page.

9/15/01 UPDATE: Trying to return to normal today, but the news about Alex Zanardi's grave injuries in Germany haven't helped much. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. We're hoping for a safe race in Italy on Sunday. Go Juan!

9/14/01 UPDATE: Michael Schumacher has now signed the new Alan Fearnley Limited Edition Print 'Just Another Day at the Office'. We have just a few copies remaining and will have them brought to the US as soon as it is prudent.
We will probably close early today, but will maintain our normal 10am - 5pm Saturday hours.
I want to thank our customers from around the world for their thoughts and messages over the past few difficult days.
9/13/01 UPDATE: Obviously, the events of the past few days have made all of sports and collecting horribly irrelevant.
We'll be spending the rest of the week bringing you up to date on what's been happening around here since our last update. In addition to his duties as Grand Marshall of the US Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen last weekend, Dan Gurney granted a private autograph session exclusively to The Motorsport Collector.
We will soon post a selection of signed books, models, artwork and other memorabilia.
We also sent Greg Howell to cover the annual National Hobby Show in Rosemont, Illinois where the big news also invoved Dan Gurney. Carousel One and All American Racers formally announced that a 1/18 scale model of Gurney's 1967 Belgian Grand Prix winning AAR Eagle - Weslake will be produced by Carousel One and released in late 2002. We'll have further details shortly.
