7/20/2004 UPDATE: Unpacking from a beautiful weekend at Road America. It was great seeing everyone there as we begin our 17th (!) season of displaying artwork, books, models and memorabilia at one of the top road racing facilities in the world. Today, we've uploaded photos of some of last week's Minichamps new arrivals. Check them out HERE. 7/15/2004 UPDATE: I'm sure all 'Tunnelheads' enjoyed racing legend Bobby Allison's appearance on Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain last night. One of the greatest American race drivers of all time and also a master story teller. Despain plugged Allison's new book 'Bobby Allison: A Racer's Racer' on the show last night and mentioned that Bobby occasionally signed a few. Well, back in June he did just that for TMC at the Watkins Glen IROC Reunion weekend. We have a few copies left for $39.95 plus shipping.

7/14/2004 UPDATE: Action's 1/18 scale model of the Daytona Prototype driven so dramatically by Tony Stewart (with Dale Jr and Andy Wallace) at the 2004 Rolex 24 is now in stock ($89.95). Preorders ship today. We're not crazy about the tires, but Action did a better than expected job on this one. Check out the full photo set on the New Die Cast page.
7/13/2004 UPDATE: We're busy with the final details of our display this weekend at the Brian Redman International Challenge at Road America. We'll have our usual large selection of books at the tent (including some new titles that arrived this week) along with an impressive display of art and memorabilia, featuring a new Jim Clark Autograph Presentation, some original pencil sketches from Finn artist Mikko Heiskanen, rare event posters and programs, framed photographs (including a shot of Brian Redman in a Formula 5000 Lola that would be the perfect item to get autographed) and a selection of aviation art, along with our usual selection of motor sport prints and posters. On the die cast side, we'll have sample models of GMP's 1/12 scale Gulf Ford GT40. We'll also have the latest releases from Minichamps, GMP, Carousel 1 and other makes. We're hoping the Jackie Stewart DVD will arrive in time, but it looks like that shipment will not get here until early next week.
We'll be in the center of the Paddock in the Vendor Village, as usual for this event. Look for the white TMC flags at the entrance to our tent.
We're expecting a shipment of new Minichamps models to arrive by the weekend, the highlight of which is their latest 1/43 scale McLaren F1 Road Car, this one in blue. ALL of the Minichamps McLaren F1's have been quick sell outs, as they are collected by enthusiasts all over the world. Order early to avoid disappointment. Other new arrivals are shown below. We'll have a few cars with us at Elkhart and will post a complete list of new arrivals next week.

7/9/2004 UPDATE: Some mid-July additions to our DVD lineup to tell you about today: The new Senna Foundation videos will be here shortly. Choose from either the 1 disc program 'The Right To Win' (52 minutes, $16.95) or the 2 disc set, 'An Official Tribute to Senna', which includes 'The Right to Win (52 minutes), 'The Lifestyle of Ayrton Senna in Brazil' (44 minutes), 'Racing is in my Blood' (52 minutes) and 15 minutes of Special Features for $39.95.
We expect 'Jackie Stewart: The Flying Scot' ($29.95) to arrive around the same time.
Read Between the Lines Department: We also expect a third new DVD this month that contains the complete original television coverage of a unique racing series held in 1973 and 1974 with three races at Riverside International Raceway and a finale at Daytona. This 'lost footage' (from the private collection of the son of the series first Champion) featured 12 of the world's top racing drivers in 'equally prepared' Porsche 911s. More than 2 hours of coverage (with Jackie Stewart and Keith Jackson doing the play by play) in full color. We're not allowed to use the real name of this series, but if you were around back then, you should be able to figure it out. $25.00 - delivered in a plain brown wrapper.
On the die cast side, a 2 car set commemorating the 25th anniversary of the BMW M1 has arrived from Minichamps ($89.95). We only have a few sets avialable. Additional photos on the New Die Cast page.
Last weekend, we posted a series of photos of GMP's forthcoming 1/12 scale Gulf Ford GT40, which is scheduled for release in late August. We now have a pre-production sample on display here at TMC in Downers Grove. We'll have it with us at the Brian Redman International Challenge at Road America next weekend. Stop by and take a look!

Art Evans reports that his new book 'Ken Miles' is nearly sold out. We still have a small quantity available, but the title will probably sell out completely at or before the BRIC Historic Races at Elkhart Lake next weekend. Order asap, if you want one.

7/2/2004 UPDATE: Finally some good news regarding the US release of 'Jackie Stewart: The Flying Scot' on DVD. After several months of delays and negotiations, we expect to finally recieve our first shipment of this excellent program later this month. In addition to the documentary film (an edited version was seen on Speed last year), the DVD includes nearly an hour of Special Features, including interviews with Sir Sean Connery, David Coulthard, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Murray Walker, Lady Helen Stewart's 'scrapbooks', 'Sir Jackie Stewart Remembers' (10 short interviews), out takes and a touching conversation between Jackie and the late Ken Tyrrell. 'Jackie Stewart: The Flying Scot' was produced by Jackie's younger son Mark Stewart and was nominated for RTS Sports Documentary of the year 2002. If you liked his documentary on Ken Tyrrell, you'll love this one.
