6/30/03 UPDATE: As we mentioned last week, the third and fourth releases in Beanstalk's series of 1/18 Ford GT Concept cars have now arrived. Both the Blue and Red versions carry racing numbers, as the actual prototype cars appeared on the Auto Show circuit. All four colors (red, blue, white, yellow) are now in stock for $29.95 each. Check out the full photo sets HERE.

6/27/03 UPDATE: More Ford News: The third and fourth releases in Beanstalk's 1/18 scale series of Ford GT Concept Cars will be here on Monday. In addition to the new Blue and Red cars, we will also have a restock of the previously released Yellow and White examples, all for $29.95 each.

Beanstalk has announced 2 new 1/18 scale models of Ford's new Mustang GT Concept car for Fall release. I'm partial to the Silver Coupe, but you can also pre-order a Red Convertible. The Mustangs are also $29.95.

Check out our Beanstalk page.

6/26/03 UPDATE: A 1/43 scale Minichamps model of the new Ford GT Concept Car has just been released in white with blue stripes. They're due here next week and should go fast. Reserve now at $34.95 plus shipping. Click the image for a closer look.

A surprise new arrival from GMP: Dorsey Schroeder's 1989 Trans Am Driver's Championship winning Roush Mustang has just been released in a very Limited Edition of just 1,000 cars ($99.95). Check out this 1/18 scale beauty with a full photo set HERE. A good day for Ford Fans!

Other news from GMP: The #16 George Follmer version of the 1/18 scale Penske Racing Trans Am Camaro is now available for $99.95 plus shipping. GMP is saying they will (finally, in our opinion) release a #6 Mark Donohue version of the 1968 Trans Am Championship winning Penske Camaro in October. Price will be $129.95. We are now accepting orders.

6/25/03 UPDATE: The latest 1/32 scale slot car from Scalextric Sport is the #2 AMG Mercedes CLK DTM driven by Jean Alesi in 2002. As all Scalextric Sport releases, the car comes in special packaging in a Limited Edition (7,000 world wide, in this case). In stock now for $47.95 plus shipping. Click the photo for a closer look.

6/24/03 UPDATE: Today's new die cast arrivals include the Minichamps's Boxed 1/43 scale Bentley EXP Speed 8 driven by Butch Leitzinger, Andy Wallace and Eric van de Poele to a 4th place finish at LeMans in 2002 ($74.95). We also have the 1/43 Williams 2003 Showcar of Juan Pablo Montoya ($34.95). You'll find full photo sets of both on our New Die Cast page.

A widescreen version of 'Winning' with Paul Newman at a new low price ($14.95) has been added to our selection of DVD's. 'Winning' was shot at Road America, Indianapolis Raceway Park, Riverside International Raceway and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway back in 1968.

6/23/03 UPDATE: We have one copy of 'All American Victory' available from our Phil Hill autograph session at Watkins Glen. The entire edition was signed by Dan Gurney. Print 219/850 has also been signed by Phil Hill. One copy available! Check out other Phil Hill autographed items HERE.

We expect delivery of the third and fourth 1/18 scale Ford GT's by Beanstalk later this week. They are Red and 'Gulf' racing Blue. At $29.95 they'll go fast. More information HERE.

6/18/03 UPDATE: TMC will be at Mid Ohio this weekend for the SVRA Vintage Grand Prix. Look for us in the Paddock area. This will probably be our only trip to Mid Ohio this summer.

6/17/03 UPDATE: One of the most important releases in Carousel 1's series of 1/18 scale historic Indianapolis cars is the Roman Slobodynskj designed Dan Gurney AAR Olsonite Eagle that stunned the racing world by shattering the lap record at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway by nearly 17 mph in the hands of 3 time Indy 500 winner Bobby Unser in 1972. Unser sat on the Pole for the 500 but dropped out early in the race. Teammate Jerry Grant dueled unsuccessfully with the Penske McLarens of Gary Bettenhausen and eventual winner Mark Donohue, but the die was cast. The next year, 20 of the 33 starters at Indy were Eagles, including the STP car of winner Gordon Johncock. Bobby Unser went on to win the 1974 USAC National Championship and the 1975 Indianapolis 500 for Dan Gurney's AAR team and the Slobodynskj design continued to appear (and make the field) in every Indy 500 through 1978. One of the truly important cars in American racing history.

Carousel 1's Olsonite Eagle is now in stock at The Motorsport Collector for $119.95 plus shipping. This model has been produced in a Limited Edition of 3000 pieces, a first for C-1, so reserve now. Now appearing on our New Release Die Cast page or you can view the entire photo set (more than 20 images) on the Olsonite Eagle page in our Carousel 1 section.

6/16/03 UPDATE: A popular win for The Bentley Boys at LeMans! Before the race, winning driver Guy Smith commissioned Andrew Kitson to paint his #7 Bentley Speed 8 leading the sister car #8 thru turn 1 at LeMans 2003. A limited edition of 750 prints has been published, each signed by Guy Smith and the artist and priced at just $85.00 plus shipping. Reserve yours now! Click the image for a larger view.

Minichamps has just released the #8 Bentley Speed 8 that finished 4th at LeMans in 2002 in a boxed limited edition 1/43. We will have them in a few days. Reserve now at $74.95!

The first 2003 IRL cars are here: The Kelley Racing Dallara Toyotas are in stock for $79.95 each. These were built in small production runs and may disappear quickly. Full photo sets HERE. Reserve the other cars in the series asap. Drivers include Michael Andretti (sure to sell out quickly), Tony Kanaan, two versions of Sam Hornish's Pennzoil Panther, Sarah Fisher, Tomas Scheckter and (even though he hasn't raced yet) Eddie Cheever.

6/14/03 UPDATE: Good news for Rendezvous fans from around the world. Our next shipment of DVD's is due to arrive in the next week or so and has been produced with zero region encoding making them playable on both NTSC and PAL machines. They're going fast at $27.95 plus shipping. Reserve now!

Caught a typo on the website this morning. The 1/18 Carousel 1 Bobby Unser Olsonite Eagle will finally be available here at TMC next week. Our price is $119.95 plus shipping (NOT the $129.95 we had listed). Sorry for the confusion.

6/12/03 UPDATE: They put the fun into F-1. We've secured a small stash of 'The Heavily Censored History of Hesketh Racing' printed in the late 1970's by that merry band of Grand Prix party animals led by James Hunt and Lord Alexander Hesketh. If you didn't pick one up at Watkins Glen in the 70's, or if your wife threw your's out, here's an opportunity to pick one up for just $25 plus shipping. All are in excellent condition.

Additional 'one of a kind' items signed by Phil Hill at Watkins Glen last weekend have been added to the Phil Hill Signed Memorabilia page.

Several new 1/18 scale models are expected to arrive in the next few days, including the 72 Bobby Unser Olsonite Eagle from Carousel 1 ($129.95) and the first two 2003 IRL cars from Action Performance, Texas winner Al Unser, Jr and teammate Scott Sharp ($79.95 each). Other 2003 IRL cars are expected soon, all produced in very small production runs. Drivers include Michael Andretti (sure to sell out quickly), Tony Kanaan, two versions of Sam Hornish's Pennzoil Panther, Sarah Fisher, Tomas Scheckter and (even though he hasn't raced yet) Eddie Cheever.

You can reserve any and all right now at 800.722.8630.

6/10/03 UPDATE: Several updates today, including some great new models from Minichamps and GMP on our New Release Die Cast page and a Francois Cevert autographed photo (SOLD) in our Memorabilia Section. We're also offering a small quantity of 1/18 scale GMP Jerobee McLaren M8B's autographed for us by PRDA Founder Oscar Koveleski. Click HERE!

And.....we also have 'Winning' on DVD for just $14.95.

6/9/03 UPDATE: Back from a muddy Watkins Glen with a selection of items signed by America's first Formula One World Champion, Phil Hill. Click HERE for our current selection. Additional 'one of a kind' items will be posted soon. There is still time to order for Father's Day!

5/30/03 UPDATE: The photo above shows the forthcoming 1/12 scale GMP Mark Donohue / Bruce McLaren 1967 LeMans Ford Mk IV in 'post race' trim. This model will be produced in a very limited quantity (we hear 400) pieces and may also be ordered in a 'pristine' pre-race finish. Base price is $499.95 for pristine. Add $100 for the dirt and grime. We have a couple of additional photos on our GMP Pre Order page. The prototype model seen here was based on the Gurney / Foyt 67 LeMans version. We're told the #2 car will be produced without the 'Gurney hump' on the roof.

New book arrivals this week include 'King of the Boards', Gary Doyle's acclaimed biography of Jimmy Murphy ($90.00) and 'LeMans: A Pocket History' by David Blumlein ($19.95).

5/28/03 UPDATE: We had a chance to screen the new DVD of 'Rendezvous' this morning and were blown away at the quality. Previous VHS versions were fairly dark, since the legendary run through Paris was done at dawn, but the producers of the DVD took full advantage of digital technology to brighten and enhance LeLouche's master film far beyond the quality of the original. You won't believe your eyes!

'Rendezvous' is now in stock for $27.95 plus shipping.

For those of you who will be at Watkins Glen for the vintage event next weekend, please be advised that the TMC display will be open Thursday afternoon, all day Friday and all day Saturday. We will NOT be open at Watkins Glen on Sunday, June 8. I have to pack up and leave Saturday afternoon for my daughter's Graduation back home on Sunday.

Phil Hill will be signing a selection of items for us during the weekend. We will also have unsigned items available for those of you who wish to get Phil's autograph in person. We will post further information before I hit the road next week.

Some great new arrivals the past week have been added to our New Arrival Die Cast page including the spectacular 1/18 scale Ferrari 365GTB/4 from Kyosho. Hopefully, the race version will arrive soon. Other new 1/18 Kyosho sports cars and some 1/43 Formula 1 cars from Minichamps and Hot Wheels have also been added.

GMP has announced that they will produce a very limited number (400 or less, we hear) of the Mark Donohue / Bruce McLaren Ford GT Mk IV from LeMans 1967 (#2 Yellow). Price has been set at $499.95 with Fall 2003 delivery anticipated. GMP has commissioned modeler Dennis Koleber to create a 'post race' version of this model which can be ordered for an additional $100.00. For further information, contact Paul at 800.722.8630. We are now accepting orders.
