GMP
has announced that the fourth car in their 1/18
Trans Am Series will be the Citgo/7-Eleven Mustang driven
by Bruce Jenner. $74.95, release date TBA.
It also appears that the Mark Donohue Lola T-70 roadster, due to arrive in late July or early August, is now classified as 'sold out' by GMP. We still have a few cars available at $74.95, but we suggest that you order soon to avoid disappointment.
GMP is showing color photos of the McLaren M8 Can Am molds, seen below. The first car in the series (the Bruce McLaren M8A from 1968) is scheduled for release in August.
GMP also announced the third car in their McLaren Can Am Series. It will be the Dan Gurney driven works M8B 'high wing' car from the 1969 Michigan Can Am. Gurney drove the third works McLaren at Michigan International Speedway on September 28, 1969 and finished third in the 1-2-3 Team McLaren sweep that afternoon. His McLaren M6B 'McLeagle' had just been switched from Ford To Chevy power and was unable to cope with the transition from high-bank to road course. The spare car was first driven by Jack Brabham that weekend, then entered in the race for Gurney.
The Michigan race was the subject
of TMC's 'Team Formation' limited
edition print. The original Michael Turner painting of which was
commissioned by Bruce McLaren himself to commemorate his Can Am
Championship and Team McLaren's undefeated season in 1969.
On a personal note, as an 18 year old Dan Gurney fan, the Michigan Can Am was one of the highlights of my life. I was at MIS as a 'gopher' for Gurney's All American Racers that weekend and spent the entire race in the McLaren pits. An unforgettable experience, to say the least!
We'll be open our normal hours on Saturday and a half day on Monday. Have a safe Fourth of July!

6/29/00 Update: News from Action Performance this afternoon. Four new items are on the way:
- The 4-car 1/43 Target Team Ganassi Championhip 'tin' featuring the CART Championship winning cars of Vasser, Zanardi (2 cars) and Montoya is available in a Limited Edition of 2,800 should be here any day.
- The three car series of 2000 IRL cars in 1/18 will follow in about a week. They will feature Greg Ray, Al Unser, Jr. and Scott Goodyear in 'CART Collection' quality 1/18 scale models. These are NOT the models they are selling at the Speedway Gift Shop!
All four items are priced at $79.95 each. We'll post photos as soon as they arrive.
We understand the first two 1/18 Panoz coupes will be released by AutoArt shortly. Advance orders are now being accepted.

6/23/00 Update: Pick-a-pair of Parnellis from Peachstate. GMP/Peachstate has released photos of two new 1/18 scale models of Willard Battery Specials driven by Parnelli Jones scheduled for release this summer.
- The car on the left is the latest Dirt Champ Car release ($84.95) scheduled for July.
- The car on the right is the second release in the Vintage Midget series ($79.95) due in August.

6/16/00 Update: The 1/43 scale Jacques Villeneuve 1999 BAR race car was just released in Germany, Minichamps's home country. As we have been saying (forever, it seems), these models are not going to be 'available' in the US but WE WILL have them by the end of the month. Supplies will be tight. If you haven't already done so, you can still pre-order one (and only one).
If you have an existing pre-order for the BAR Presentation Cars, you MUST place a new order if you want one of the BAR race cars. Minichamps is now saying that the BAR Presentation Cars (JV in Lucky Strike livery, Zonta in 555) will not be built. Since the story changes every few weeks or so, we are not cancelling any orders for the Presentation cars as yet.
The BAR Presentation Cars are not to be confused with the (non-driver specific) BAR Launch Car that Minichamps now says it will release later this summer. We are now accepting orders for the BAR Launch Car.

6/15/00 Update: Some 'new release' information is trickling in this morning:
- Exoto is releasing the 1/18 scale Chaparral Corvette Grand Sport as driven in the 1964 Road America 500 by Roger Penske, Jim Hall and Hap Sharp. We should have them in stock within a few days. Price is still $149.95. This is the white #67 Grand Sport Coupe (RLG18021) we've all been waiting for. Advance orders will ship next week. A few cars are still available from our initial shipments.
- The second release in the 3-car Steve McQueen Collection from Fly Slot Cars; the Porsche 908 'Camera Car' ($69.95) used to film McQueen's classic 'LeMans' will arrive next week. We still have a few of the first release, the Sebring version of the Porsche 908, in stock at the issue price of $69.95. A 'Michael Delaney' Gulf Porsche 917 will complete the Collection later this summer.
- Unconfirmed reports have the 1/43 Minichamps 1999 BAR race ('Zipper') cars of Villeneuve and Zonta arriving at European distributors. As we have been saying (forever, it seems), these models will not be 'available' in the US but WE WILL have them. If you haven't already done so, you can pre order these models for $34.95 each. We will update our 'The Saga Continues' page as new information reaches us. Someday, this nightmare will end.
6/14/00 Update: One last 'suggestion' regarding the Carousel 1 A.J.
Foyt 1964 Indianapolis Winning Watson roadster: We expect our
shipment to arrive later this month. Indications are that this
model will sell out even quicker than the first Foyt Watson did
in 1999. If you place your order now, we can guarantee delivery
of one of these pieces at the issue price of $109.95. If
you wait for the shipment to arrive, you may not be so lucky.

We're doing some general 'tidying up' around the website this morning, starting with an update in GMP's release schedule for their Can Am and Trans Am road race series (HERE).
The next GMP car scheduled to arrive at TMC is Dorsey Schroeder's 1/18 scale Whistler Mustang in early July. Advance orders are still being accepted at $74.95 plus shipping.
GMP has changed the livery on the next release in the 1/18 Vintage Midget Series. The Parnelli Jones midget will appear in Willard Battery colors ($79.95), as will the next 1/18 Dirt Champ Car release ($84.95). Both are due this summer. Drive safely.
Our final shipment of Gurney Lola T-70's has arrived. The 2,500 piece Limited Edition could sell out by the end of this month.

great new models arrived early this afternoon. From Minichamps,
the (very) Limited Edition Inaugural US Grand Prix cars in both
1/18 and 1/43 scale. The 1/18 version ($64.95) is limited to 2,508
pieces and the 1/43 ($34.95) to an extremely collectible 1,512
examples. Each model is individually numbered. Worldwide demand
amongst Minichamps F1 collectors is going to be huge on these
two. Get your orders in quickly!!
