5/30/03 UPDATE: The photo above shows the forthcoming 1/12 scale GMP Mark Donohue / Bruce McLaren 1967 LeMans Ford Mk IV in 'post race' trim. This model will be produced in a very limited quantity (we hear 400) pieces and may also be ordered in a 'pristine' pre-race finish. Base price is $499.95 for pristine. Add $100 for the dirt and grime. We have a couple of additional photos on our GMP Pre Order page. The prototype model seen here was based on the Gurney / Foyt 67 LeMans version. We're told the #2 car will be produced without the 'Gurney hump' on the roof.

5/28/03 UPDATE: We had a chance to screen the new DVD of 'Rendezvous' this morning and were blown away at the quality. Previous VHS versions were fairly dark, since the legendary run through Paris was done at dawn, but the producers of the DVD took full advantage of digital technology to brighten and enhance LeLouche's master film far beyond the quality of the original. You won't believe your eyes!

For those of you who will be at Watkins Glen for the vintage event next weekend, please be advised that the TMC display will be open Thursday afternoon, all day Friday and all day Saturday. We will NOT be open at Watkins Glen on Sunday, June 8. I have to pack up and leave Saturday afternoon for my daughter's Graduation back home on Sunday.
Phil Hill will be signing a selection of items for us during the weekend. We will also have unsigned items available for those of you who wish to get Phil's autograph in person. We will post further information before I hit the road next week.
Some great new arrivals the past week have been added to our New Arrival Die Cast page including the spectacular 1/18 scale Ferrari 365GTB/4 from Kyosho. Hopefully, the race version will arrive soon. Other new 1/18 Kyosho sports cars and some 1/43 Formula 1 cars from Minichamps and Hot Wheels have also been added.
GMP has announced that they will produce a very limited number (400 or less, we hear) of the Mark Donohue / Bruce McLaren Ford GT Mk IV from LeMans 1967 (#2 Yellow). Price has been set at $499.95 with Fall 2003 delivery anticipated. 5/27/03 UPDATE: Back from 5 days in Indianapolis. We're running a bit behind answering our email, so please be patient the next day or two.
I had my dates a bit messed up last week. We will be at Watkins Glen NEXT weekend for the vintage event (June 6-8) and an autograph session with Phil Hill. Almost pulled a 'Michael Waltrip' and showed up on the wrong weekend!

5/21/03 UPDATE: See you at the Memorabilia Show in Indianapolis this weekend! After that, it will be a quick turnaround to Watkins Glen the weekend of Jun 6-8 where we will have an autograph session with 1961 World Champion Phil Hill. I'll post a list of autographed items when I return.
The Gallery will be closed Monday, Memorial Day but will maintain regular hours in my absence.

5/13/03 UPDATE: Now that the weather seems to be stabilizing a bit, we'll be kicking off our 2003 'Road Show' season the next 3 weekends. We will be at Road America this weekend (Saturday and Sunday only) for the SVRA Vintage GP, at the Indiana Convention Center for the annual '500' Memorabilia Show next weekend, then off to Watkins Glen for their spring Vintage weekend the end of the month.
We are putting together several autograph sessions this summer, the first of which will be with Phil Hill at Watkins Glen. The 1961 World Driving Champion will be signing copies of his biography 'Phil Hill: Yankee Champion' for us, along with other items that weekend. 5/12/03 UPDATE: One of the fastest looking models we've ever seen is this new Revell of Germany 1/18 scale Auto Union Typ C Stromlinie as raced by Bernd Rosemeyer at the Avus circuit in Berlin in 1937. Capable of 300 kph speeds, this Ferdinand Porsche designed racer was an absolute masterpiece. It's worth a trip over to our New Release Die Cast page for the full photo set. 5/7/03 UPDATE: We'll be updating our Book List with some new arrivals over the next couple of weeks. Among the highlights are Gordon Eliot White's latest effort 'Lost Race Tracks' ($32.95 soft cover) which pays homage to a variety of circuits that no longer exist, from Ascot and Riverside to Trenton and Bridgehampton. We've got a few signed bookplates left over from White's best seller 'Offenhauser' a few years ago. We'll include one in each copy while supplies last.
We're about 2/3's through 'Bernie's Game' ($35.95), an unauthorized look at Bernie Ecclestone's business life. A fascinating look into the details of how this former used motorcycle salesman became the most powerful man in racing and one of the richest men in England. We have a couple copies with 'less than perfect' dust jackets on sale for $28.75.
Chris Nixon has confirmed that a limited edition reprint (1000 copies only) of his epic 'Racing the Silver Arrows: Mercedes Benz versus Auto Union' is currently in production and is scheduled for release this summer. Previous editions of this classic sell for $150 - $250 (if you can find one) in the out of print book market but you can reserve a new copy from TMC for just $74.95 plus shipping. Order now, 1000 copies won't go very far!
