Update: Here
are the photos we promised you of Fly's new Martini
Porsche 917 LeMans winner from 1971. In my opinion, this is
one of the most beautiful racing cars of all time, and Fly has
certainly done it justice. Photos HERE.
We've also added a few things to our 'Hard to Find' Die Cast page, including some 1988 Onyx Formula One cars, a very desireable Rick Mears Penske from the 1990 Onyx Indy set and two 'out of production' 1/18 scale cars; the A.J. Foyt '61 Indy Winner from Carousel 1 and the Roger McCluskey 'Konstant Hot' Special Vintage Sprint Car from GMP.

5/30/00 Update: Back from Indy, and one of the most exciting 500's we've ever seen. Our autograph session with 3 time Indy winner Johnny Rutherford was a big success. Autographed copies of Rutherford's new autobiography "Lone Star JR", are sold out. Advance orders will ship this week.
We hope to line up another session with JR later in the year. We'll keep you posted here.
Gurney Lola T70's are in stock, and going FAST. GMP has set a $79.95 price for their first McLaren M8A Can Am Car. The Bruce McLaren 1968 Can Am Championship winner is scheduled for release later this summer. Denny Hulme's team car will follow by year end.

5/18/00 Update: Here are the photos we promised you yesterday. Fly's Gulf Porsche 917 is finely detailed right down to the lettering on Pedro Rodriguez's helmet! Six more 917's are coming later this spring, including the two LeMans winners, the Vic Elford Martini Racing Sebring winner from 1971 and a Steve McQueen Collection Gulf Porsche.

5/10/00 Update:
It was a bit like Christmas morning
today. We received a shipment of models from GMP and tucked away
in one of the cases was one of their just-produced Dan Gurney
AAR Bardahl Special Lola T-70's! The main shipment is still 'on
the water' and isn't due for a couple more weeks but a few pieces
were flown in for promotional purposes.
The Gurney Lola has been produced in a Limited Edition of 3,500 individually numbered pieces. At $74.95, it's a steal. Reserve one now.

Officials of the new 'Chicagoland Speedway' in Joliet announced their 2001 NASCAR and IRL race dates this morning at Navy Pier. The NASCAR Busch and Winston Cup series will visit on July 14-15 and IRL will appear on Labor Day weekend., September 2.
We found a 1/24 scale Onyx 'Senna Ducati 916SP'
in the back room this morning. The first $32.95 gets it.
5/4/00 Update: As we mentioned on Wednesday, we now have small quantities of Minichamps 1/18 scale Ralf Schumacher 2000 Williams Promotional Showcars ($64.95) and 1/43 Minichamps JFK Lincoln Limos ($69.95) in stock.
The 1/18 Minichamps 'Showcars' are going to be quite rare this year, especially in the US.

Updated 5/2/00: 'Well worth the wait' was our first reaction to Alan Henry's superb 340 page 'Autocourse 50 Years of World Championship Grand Prix Motor Racing' ($59.95), which arrived here at TMC today. Autocourse Editor Henry's comprehensive text is accompanied by the stunning photography of two of the best in the business; Bernard Cahier and his son Paul-Henri Cahier, with help from the archives of LAT Photographic. The book also features a Foreword by the President of Ferrari, Luca di Montezemolo and a Results section compiled by statistician David Hayhoe. If you collect Autocourse annuals but don't have the time or $$$$ to track down the complete collection, this book will not only fill the gaps, but will provide a unique, long term prospective of the past 50 years of World Championship Grand Prix racing.
Pete Lyon's 'Can Am Photo History' has been reprinted and is back in stock at TMC ($34.95) along with a restock of the very popular 'The Motor Racing Art of Nicholas Watts' ($125.00). Only 1,500 signed First Edition copies of the Watts book were produced. They won't last long.
