Watched the 'LeMans' DVD at home last night and was quite impressed. The digital 5.1 Surround Sound is spectacular and the color and clarity is the best I've seen for any film of it's age converted to DVD. AND, the first note of the soundtrack overture is not cut off as it was in the VHS tape version. You 'hard core' LeMans freaks who have the soundtrack album will pick that up right away! 4/28/03 UPDATE: The 'official' release date for Steve McQueen's 'LeMans' on DVD isn't until tomorrow, but our shipment arrived early this afternoon. This 'most requested' of all DVD's is available with widescreen 'letterbox' format and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound. A must have? Give me a break!

Also in today's new arrivals: The Lloyd Ruby Agajanian Special Watson Roadster ($109.95). We think it's one of the nicest looking Carousel 1 releases to date. Check out the full photo set HERE. This particular J.C Agajanian owned Watson roadster had an interesting Indianapolis 500 history. In this livery, it was Lloyd Ruby's mount when he won Indy's Rookie of the Year award in 1960, then was driven by Parnelli Jones in the next 4 Indy 500's as the Willard Battery Special, winning co-Rookie of the Year in 1961, turning the first official 150 mph qualifying run in 1962, then (finally) the victory in 1963.

4/22/03 UPDATE: We'll start this week's updates with some 'Good News, Bad News' along with some 'So what else is new' News. First the Bad News: One of our all-time most popular videos, Claude Lelouch's classic 9 minute film 'Rendezvous', is no longer available on VHS tape for $49.95.

So what else is new? GMP has updated the release information on the third in their series of 1/12 scale LeMans winning Ford GT's. The release date for the 1969 winning Gulf Wyer Ford GT is now listed as 'Late Winter, 2004' with a $489.95 issue price. We had hoped to see this model released in late 2003, and relayed that hope to those of you who have asked about it recently.
We are accepting advance orders based on this latest info and will keep you advised.

4/7/03 UPDATE: The phrase 'worth the wait' is well worn over here these days. We mean it wholeheartedly with GMP's 1/12 scale 1966 LeMans winning Ford Mk II, which arrived today. Advance orders will ship this week. Those of you in the neighborhood don't have to wait for your phone call, you can stop in during Gallery Hours (10am - 6pm M-F, 10am - 5pm Sat) and pick up your car. Due to the high demand, we may not be able to hold cars more than a week or so. I know tax day is around the corner, but we're just pawns in this wonderful world of diecast.
We have a couple of cars available at the issue price of $489.95. First come, first served. If you want to trade in your 1/12 Ford Mk IV, we'll cut you a deal!
