4/29/01 UPDATE: Another small computer glitch today. My in-box suddenly went *poof* again. If you sent a message to me over the weekend and didn't get a response, please send it again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

4/28/01 UPDATE: I just updated our Out of Print Autocourse page to reflect a collection that we acquired last week. Additional volumes may be available later this week.

4/27/01 UPDATE: The Denny Hulme McLaren M8A from GMP has arrived. If you have one on pre-order, you can stop by and pick it up today until 6pm or Saturday from 10am to 5pm. We probably won't start shipping until Monday. A few cars are still available for $99.95. Only 3,000 were produced (versus 3,504 of the Bruce McLaren M8A), so they're likely to go fast.

I added some photos to our New Die Cast page late this afternoon. Tough choices for Ford fans: The new Jerry Titus Shelby GT350 R-Model from Lane is stunning, as is the first Exoto Ford MkII! The Limited Edition Hot Wheels Michael Schumacher 'King of Rain' Ferrari is extremely nice. The model was produced for the German market in a Limited Edition of 9,999. Availability is EXTREMELY limited here in the US.

I'll have a complete photo set of the Denny Hulme McLaren M8A up by Monday. I also hope to get around to that Out of Print Autocourse update I've been promising.

See what happens when I take a few days off?

4/26/01 UPDATE: My thoughts on Sylvester Stallone's new movie 'Driven', opening tomorrow at a theatre near you.

4/25/01 LATE AFTERNOON UPDATE: Three new videos from Duke arrived today: 'World Greatest F1 Cars', 'World's Greatest Rally Cars' and 'Joey 1952-2000'. All are priced at $29.95.

The 2000 Indy Review, Volume 10 and 2000 Brickyard 400 Review arrived from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway today. Both are priced at $24.95.

Just had time to post a few model photos on our New Die Cast Page. Today's arrivals included the Exoto Ford Mk II, 1/18 Minichamps Ayrton Senna McLaren MP4/7 and the 1/18 Hot Wheels Cadillac LMP. More photos, and the Out of Print Autocourse update we promised this morning tomorrow.

Now it's off to the movies. Yo, Adrian! Pass me a Tecate!!

4/25/01 MID AFTERNOON UPDATE: We just received a few more of the extremely hot 1/43 scale Minichamps 'naked lady' Porsche 911 GT2's as raced at LeMans in 1998. They're $39.95 while they last!

Lots of new arrivals today. We'll post as much as we can by 5pm.

4/25/01 MID MORNING UPDATE: Exoto's first Ford GT, the Ford Mk II 'Black Prototype' is now in stock ($169.95). Photos later today.

4/25/01 UPDATE: Almost caught up with the paperwork after spending the weekend at Talladega. It was fun actually sitting in the stands and enjoying a race for a change!!

First, we'll bring you up to date on some news: GMP's latest 1/18 Dirt Championship Car, the Bobby Marshman Econo Car Special, is now in stock ($89.95). We'll have photos for you later today. Like other manufacturers, GMP is adjusting some release schedules. Their 1966 LeMans winning Ford MkII has been delayed until November ($399.95), the next 1/12 Dirt Champ car, Bobby Unser's Bardahl Special, has been pushed back to June ($319.95) and the first Mark Donohue/Penske Racing Camaro, as raced in 1967, will appear in time for Christmas ($99.95).

On the other hand, Exoto has opened the floodgates. In addition to the cars we told you about on 4/18, we're expecting two versions of the Penske Racing Corvette Grand Sport Roadster and their first Porsche 935 in a couple of weeks. We'll have details soon.

As you probably saw at the top of the page, a fresh shipment of MRRC's Chaparral 2 slot cars is on the way. These babies have been sold out for at least a year and are bringing up to $100 on eBay lately. We'll have both Jim Hall #66 and Hap Sharp #65 available for $44.95 each. Backorders placed in the past year will be filled first, but we do have cars available at this time.

More updates later today, including a major one to our Out of Print Autocourse page. A large collection has just arrived, and after we sort out the requests from our earlier announcement, we'll be offering some very hard to find editions of the world's best Formula One annual.

If you plan on stopping by today, I'll be out of here at 5pm (courtesy of our friends at 'The Tire Rack') to attend an advance screening of the new Sylvester Stallone racing epic 'Driven'. I'll post a review tomorrow afternoon.

4/24/01 UPDATE: Back from a rare weekend off. I'll answer the rest of your email and voicemail by the end of the day, and if anything interesting comes in the door, I'll post photos here this afternoon.

4/18/01 EVENING UPDATE: The 'Dueling Banjos' CD is packed, and I am OUT OF HERE. We'll be closed Thursday, Friday and next Monday while I'm at Talladega. The Gallery will be open, as usual, this Saturday from 10am to 5pm.

I'll be checking the email and voice mail every night, so you'll hardly know I'm gone.

PZ

4/18/01 UPDATE: New from Minichamps: A Limited Edition (1,999 piece) 1/43 scale Mika Salo Sauber Petronas C19 as raced at the 2000 Grand Prix of Malaysia. In stock now for $34.95. More photos may be found on the New Release Die Cast page.

Two new prints from Colin Carter will be available at TMC in May. On the left, 'Italian Dream' features Michael Schumacher in his World Championship winning Ferrari. On the right, 'Gentleman Jim' features the great Jim Clark in a Lotus 49. Both prints have been published in Limited Editions of just 250 copies, and are priced at $175.00 each. Reserve now. Larger photos may be viewed on our Colin Carter page.

Exoto fans: The first 1/18 scale Ford Mk II is on the way. It's the Black 'Prototype' version, priced at $169.95. We're also expecting the Jagermeister Porsche 934, also priced at $169.95. Reserve both now.

There are more cars to add to our Hard to Find Die Cast page, but I'm going to wait until I get back from Talladega, so we can keep the page current. We'll be open until 6pm central time tonight, then closed Thursday, Friday and Monday. We'll have normal Gallery hours (10am-5pm) this Saturday.

4/17/01 UPDATE: Two new models from Minichamps arrived today: On the left, the long awaited 1/43 scale Mercedes 300 SLR as driven by Juan Manuel Fangio at LeMans in 1955 ($34.95). A rare, 1/24 scale version of this car sold about 12 hours after we put it on our Hard to Find page yesterday. On the right, the Opel V8 Coupe as driven by Michael Bartels in the 2000 DTM season ($39.95).

Additional photos may be found on the New Release Die Cast page.

I'll try to make changes to the Hard to Find Die Cast page later today as we add items recently acquired from a private 'collection' and subtract items that have been sold.

For those of you waiting for information on out-of-print Autocourse annuals, we'll have an update for you when I return next week.

Some of you received a mailing with our 2001 Advance Order Form. Thanks to Michael Brown (a Friend of TMC), we now have it in PDF format. You'll need Adobe Acrobat to use it, but I think everyone has it on their computer. Download the form HERE.

I'd like to correct something that I posted here last week. There's been some confusion over GMP's proposed McLaren M8D, as driven by Dan Gurney in the first 3 races of the 1970 Can Am season. The model appears in the current catalog of a major racing merchandise company but GMP has confirmed to us that that model will not be produced until early 2002. The Gurney McLaren M8B, as driven at Michigan in 1969, will be released this summer, as originally announced.

If you placed an order with TMC for either of these cars, we will keep it on file and ship when the cars arrive.

4/16/01 UPDATE: I just added a 'retired' 1/18 scale Exoto Gilles Villeneuve Ferrari 312 T4 to the Hard to Find Die Cast page along with several other pieces, including an extremely rare 1/24 scale Minichamps Mercedes Benz 300 SLR as driven at LeMans by Juan Manuel Fangio in 1955.

We just had a 1/18 scale Exoto Nigel Mansell Ferrari 641/2 become available at the issue price of $169.95. First come, first served.

4/13/01 AFTERNOON UPDATE: The 1/18 scale Villeneuve BAR's are sold out. We're looking for more, but I don't want to take orders at this time. We may do a 'one shot' deal for 1/18 and 1/43 Zonta BAR's, for those who want to complete the set.

We won't order many for stock, so if you want one, speak now or forever hold your peace.

4/13/01 UPDATE: The excitement continues on Friday the 13th. Anyone who sent me an email since last night who didn't get an answer, please resend. All of a sudden, things went *POOF*.

We'll be open our normal hours today and tomorrow. Stop by and walk under our ladder for good luck.

Late next week, I'll be closed for a few days for some well deserved mental health days. I'll fill in the details on Monday.

Happy Easter!

4/12/01 UPDATE: Exoto's third Porsche 934 RSR, this one in factory orange, is now in stock at TMC ($169.95). Why do I think this one will sell faster than the first two? I've posted photos on our New Release Die Cast page and in the Exoto Porsche 934 section.

I've also posted a photo set of GMP's fabulous new Bruce Jenner Roush Mustang ($89.95). Only 1,500 were made. Get one while you can.

We're searching the globe for more Minichamps 1/43 'naked lady' Porsches, but I don't want to take any orders at this time until we can secure more. We will have some of the 1/18 UT versions back in stock shortly ($59.95) if your eyes aren't what they used to be.

Some new release information that may interest you:

- Next from GMP will be the Denny Hulme McLaren M8A ($99.95). We expect them perhaps as early as next week. Their 1/12 scale Bobby Unser Bardahl Special is due in June ($319.95). Both models are technically 'sold out' but we have spots available on our advance order list. GMP's 1/12 Ford GT program is running behind schedule. The 1966 LeMans winning Ford Mk. II is now scheduled for a Fall 2001 release, the other two are officially 'TBA'.

- Carousel One will release the Billy Vukovich Sugaripe Prune Eagle in May ($119.95), and the Tony Bettenhausen Kurtis Roadster ($109.95) in June. The first Johnny Rutherford McLaren has been delayed until Fall 2001.

- Last call on the Jud Larson Sprinter. We're down to our last few. Same situation with the 1/18 Minichamps Jacques Villeneuve 2000 BAR.

Watch for a few interesting additions to our Hard To Find Die Cast page over the next several days, as several rare pieces from recent acquisitions are posted along with some 'recently discovered' items.

First up: A 1/18 scale Exoto 'Standox' Porsche 934 RSR.

4/10/01 UPDATE: Several new and 'restock' models from Maisto and Kyosho today. I've posted photos on our New Release Die Cast page. We'll have more photos of the GMP Roush Mustang later today.

4/9/01 UPDATE: The #16 Mark Donohue Lola T-70 roadster from GMP is now sold out. A second Donohue roadster will be released later this year, the #6 car as raced in the 1967 USRRC and Can Am. Advance orders are now being accepted at $89.95 plus shipping.

The 1/43 Minichamps Jacques Villeneuve 2000 BAR race cars are here. Pre-orders will ship tomorrow. Just a few left. Call now!

4/7/01 UPDATE: One little treat left by our Web Hosting company is that some of you are reporting that your bookmarks to our site are no longer working properly. What you need to do is remove the www.net-link.net/ reference from the front of our URL (address) and reset the link to www.motorsportcollector.com directly.

Of course, if you're reading this, you've probably figured out at least part of the problem.

Have a nice weekend.

4/6/01 6pm CDT UPDATE: Photos of all 16 new Minichamps Models are now uploaded for your ordering pleasure. There's good stuff all the way down the page. Start HERE.

4/6/01 NOON UPDATE: The 1/18 scale Minichamps Jacques Villeneuve 2000 BAR Race Cars are here. Only a few remain at $74.95 plus shipping.

4.6.01 Update: First off, I'd like to thank the knuckleheads at our website hosting company for knocking us off line yesterday while changing servers. I hope to have all of the latest information uploaded by the end of the day.

Now I know where all the Northpoint people wound up. The way things are going around here, I'm going to dust off the telegraph key and brush up on my Morse Code.

We're expecting a shipment of the third Exoto Porsche 934 RSR, the orange 'factory' car, in a few days. Reserve now!

There were oohhs, and aaaaahhhs all around yesterday as we unpacked a big shipment of new models from Minichamps. We'll post photos by the weekend (hopefully), but here's a list of the new arrivals to get you started.:

4.4.01 Update: Three very cool new slot cars from Fly arrived today. On the left, the U.S.A. Limited Edition Mario Andretti Panoz ($69.95), on the right, a Boxed Edition Marcos LM600 ($69.95) and in the center, one of the most beautiful race cars of all time, the Martini Racing Porsche 908/3 as driven to victory at the Nurburgring by Vic Elford and Gerard Larrousse in 1971 ($44.95).

Click on the links above for additional photos.

We have a few plaques autographed by Vic while he was here doing a book signing a few years ago. We'll throw one in with every order for the Martini 908/3 received through Saturday April 7, or while supplies last. Elford was one of the greatest of all endurance racers during the 'Glory Days' of the late 1960's and early 1970's.

Not to mention one of the nicest guys you'll ever want to meet!

All three of the 2000 LeMans Audis from Onyx are now in stock here at TMC ($24.95 each). Photos soon. We'll also post photos of the #3 Surtees Lola T70 on Thursday.

A large shipment of new models (and some restocks) from Minichamps should be here any day, including the 1/18 scale silver Porsche 904 GTS as raced at Daytona in 1964 that we've been asked so much about for a year or so. Order today to insure availability!

4.3.01 Update: A lot of you have called here the past couple of days regarding an item in a leading racing merchandise catalog. Although it was a poorly kept secret amongst die cast dealers, GMP will produce a 1/18 scale McLaren M8D as driven by Dan Gurney in the first 3 races of the 1970 Can Am season. Gurney won the first two races of the year at Mosport and St. Jovite, lifting the spirits of the shattered McLaren Team after Denny Hulme was badly burned at Indianapolis in May and team leader Bruce McLaren was tragically killed testing the M8D at Goodwood in early June. A dispute between Gulf Oil and long time Gurney sponsor Castrol put Peter Gethin into the works McLaren after the Watkins Glen race.

GMP's #48 Dan Gurney Team McLaren M8D is scheduled for release 'around August' and will be priced at $99.95. We are now accepting advance orders.

4.2.01 Update: Is there a lawyer in the house? We're somewhat back to normal today after a Friday from Hell. Little did we know that our office DSL service was sub-contracted to Northpoint, so when they went bankrupt and turned off the lights, it left us without an internet connection with absolutely no notice whatever. Added to that, our mail server (an entirely different vendor) went down Friday afternoon, driving me absolutely nuts while I tried to blow the dust off our 56k modem and get back on-line.

Anyway, first order of business today was to get our Exoto Ferrari 641/2 photo set uploaded.

Some new arrivals today: The #3 Surtees Lola T-70 from GMP ($89.95) and three 1/43 scale LeMans 2000 Panoz roadsters from Minichamps, including the Mario Andretti car ($39.95 each). We'll have details for you by late afternoon.
