7/24/09 UPDATE: John Starkey's latest book, Lola:
The Sports-Prototype & CanAm Cars, is due for release
around the end of July:
When Eric Broadley first introduced his Lola Mk. VI GT Coupe in 1964, he started a revolution in Sportscar racing that swiftly led on to the T70, which developed into both a CanAm open version and a World Championship contending coupe version.
From the T70, Broadley developed the T160 family of CanAm cars, following up with the T220/260 and finally the T310.
After the T70 coupe Sports-prototype, came the T600/610/616 and then the T710 Corvette GTP and the T810 Electramotive Nissan GTP cars.
In 1989, Lola replaced March as the chosen designer/builder of their Group C contenders and designed the R89 and R90C, which so nearly won Le Mans.
For the 3.5 Atmo. Formula, Lola introduced the T92/10 and (bringing the story right up-to-date) the B08/60 and B08/80.
$99.95.
Over 600 pages, over 300 color and B&W photos. Reserve HERE.

7/12/09 UPDATE: In recent months we've received several calls from
collectors trying to find one of GMP's 'sold out' 1/8 scale Porsche
Spyders. Originally announced as a run of 550 models, less than
half were actually produced.
On Friday, GMP notified us that an additional 50 examples will be available for delivery in early 2010.
They will be produced with the factory rear fender stripes and a burgundy interior (similar to the James Dean car).
Features include a serialized plate, resin body, opening hood, doors and rear bonnet, poseable steering, opening fuel filler door, plumbed and wired engine, accurate undercarriage detail and 'intricate interior detailing'.
Introduced at the 1953 Paris Auto Show, the 550 Spyder gave Porsche its first overall win in a major sports car racing event, the 1956 Targa Florio and earned the nickname 'Giant Killer'.
Models from this run have been priced at $2,495.00 plus shipping.
You can reserve one HERE, or you can give us a call at 800.722.8630 or 630.515.1440.
