8/18/09 UPDATE: Do you collect 1/43 scale Formula One World Champion models? If so, you've found that one of the hardest World Championship cars to collect is Sir Jack Brabham's Championship winning Brabham BT19. In 1966, Sir Jack became the first and only driver turned constructor to become World Champion in a car bearing his own name. Thanks to SMTS, we now have this very nice hand built Brabham BT19 to fill that big gap in your collection. $165.00 plus shipping. Order HERE.

7/27/09 UPDATE: We caught up with author Michael Argetsinger at Road America over the weekend where he was driving a Titan Mk 6 in the Formula Ford 40th Anniversary Celebration. The remaining signed copies are available at no additional charge while they last.

7/24/09 UPDATE: John Starkey's latest book, Lola: The Sports-Prototype & CanAm Cars, is due for release around the end of July:

When Eric Broadley first introduced his Lola Mk. VI GT Coupe in 1964, he started a revolution in Sportscar racing that swiftly led on to the T70, which developed into both a CanAm open version and a World Championship contending coupe version.

From the T70, Broadley developed the T160 family of CanAm cars, following up with the T220/260 and finally the T310.

After the T70 coupe Sports-prototype, came the T600/610/616 and then the T710 Corvette GTP and the T810 Electramotive Nissan GTP cars.

In 1989, Lola replaced March as the chosen designer/builder of their Group C contenders and designed the R89 and R90C, which so nearly won Le Mans.

For the 3.5 Atmo. Formula, Lola introduced the T92/10 and (bringing the story right up-to-date) the B08/60 and B08/80.

$99.95. Over 600 pages, over 300 color and B&W photos. Reserve HERE.

7/23/09 UPDATE: We've received a fresh shipment of 1/43 scale models from Spark (above) and RedLine (left). The 1/43 scale Gurney Eagles from True Scale Miniatures are shipping now. All back orders should be filled within a week.

We'll be meeting with author Michael Argetsinger this weekend at Road America (Mike is driving the #6 Titan Mk6 in the Formula Ford Anniversary race) for him to sign additional copies of his acclaimed biography of Mark Donohue, 'Technical Excellence at Speed' ($39.95). Back orders will ship next week.

Signed copies will be available on Monday, first come, first served.

7/21/09 UPDATE: Last weekend at Road America, we unveiled the four new framed pieces seen here. They include two photographs of LeMans 1967 signed by Dan Gurney, a classic photographic image of Juan Manuel Fangio's most famous victory and a Jim Clark Autograph Presentation (SOLD) featuring the artwork of Graham Turner. About four copies of each photo are available, but the Turner / Clark Presentation is a one-of-a kind.

Additional information and prices can be found HERE.

7/13/09 UPDATE: This weekend at Road America, we will be featuring giclee prints of four paintings by Michael and Graham Turner celebrating the successes of the weekend's Featured Marque, the Ford GT 40. These prints are produced to order in England, then inspected and hand signed by the Artist.

A 'sneak peek' of those four Turner images can be found on the left side of this page or HERE.

Stop by our tent on Vendor Row and check out our current inventory of motorsport art, books, DVDs, quality diecast and other racing memorabilia.

7/12/09 UPDATE: In recent months we've received several calls from collectors trying to find one of GMP's 'sold out' 1/8 scale Porsche Spyders. Originally announced as a run of 550 models, less than half were actually produced.

On Friday, GMP notified us that an additional 50 examples will be available for delivery in early 2010.

They will be produced with the factory rear fender stripes and a burgundy interior (similar to the James Dean car).

Features include a serialized plate, resin body, opening hood, doors and rear bonnet, poseable steering, opening fuel filler door, plumbed and wired engine, accurate undercarriage detail and 'intricate interior detailing'.

Introduced at the 1953 Paris Auto Show, the 550 Spyder gave Porsche its first overall win in a major sports car racing event, the 1956 Targa Florio and earned the nickname 'Giant Killer'.

Models from this run have been priced at $2,495.00 plus shipping.

You can reserve one HERE, or you can give us a call at 800.722.8630 or 630.515.1440.

7/09/09 UPDATE: Last Call: Spark will be doing additional production on three of their 'sold out' McLaren M6 Can Am Cars: Bruce McLaren's 1967 Championship Winner, Mark Donohue's Sunoco McLaren and Moises Solana's Mexico City USRRC winner.

They should be here in the fall. Click on the drivers names to order.

We're hoping they'll do more Denny Hulme M20s as well. They disappeared rather quickly last month.

7/06/09 UPDATE: This morning, Spark Model announced 20 new 1/43 scale models of cars that competed in last month's 24 Hours of LeMans: The selection includes three of the four class winners, the other works Peugeots, a brace of Audi R10s, the ProDrive Lola Aston Martins, both Pratt & Miller Corvettes and independent C6Rs, several assorted Porsche GT3s and RS Spyders and an Aston Martin DBR9.

The list from Spark is called 'Part 1', so we're expecting that future announcements will include the Audi R15s, and other participants. We will forward that information to you as soon as we have it.

The LMGT2 Ferraris will probably be released under the Red Line brand.

You can find all 20 of these 1/43 scale models in the 2009 LeMans section of our Online Shopping website. Indications are that these models will appear sometime in the fourh quarter of 2009.

Please place your order before July 20 to insure availability.

7/03/09 UPDATE: '1965- Jim Clark & Team Lotus - The UK Races by William Taylor' The latest release from Coterie Publishing is an in-depth photo essay of the cars and drivers competing in a complete season of British motorsport. Detailing every major class and formula, saloons and single-seaters, it sees the legendary drivers such as Stewart, Hill, Gurney, Brabham, Surtees and McLaren competing hard against the formitable talent of Team Lotus and works supported drivers Jimmy Clark, Mike Spence, Jack Sears, Sir John Whitmore, Pedro Rodriguez, Brian Hart, Peter Revson and Ray Parsons.

Copiously illustrated with nearly 200 hitherto unseen photographs from the Peter Darley Archive, the book not only captures the unique atmosphere of the time but also lists the race results for every class in which Jim Clark competed and records the thrills and spills as they unfolded for Colin Chapman's record breaking Team Lotus in 1965.

With new contributions from Jack Sears, Sally Swart (Stokes), Bob Dance and David Hobbs, '1965: Jim Clark & Team Lotus - The UK Races' is not just an invaluable record of Jimmy's early life and times but also a uniquely colorful depiction of an important period in British motor racing history. One which like many other Coterie publications is sure to become a coveted collectors item.
