3/30/07UPDATE: Enough with the diecast!
Top left is a new Autograph Presentation honoring Jim Clark that made its debut at TMC this afternoon. (4/3-SOLD)The central focus of the piece is a photograph taken in 1963 after Clark won his first World Driving Championship. The photograph shows Clark posing next to an impressive collection of racing trophies in his family home. Above the trophies hangs a framed print of a Michael Turner painting commemorating Clark's win in the 1962 British Grand Prix at Aintree. The rear view of the Lotus 25 is a study in cool as Turner captures Clark's smooth, calm driving style. We've grouped this photo with a copy of that same 1962 Michael Turner open edition print (one of our all time favorites) and a black and white photograph signed by Jimmy himself. Non-glare photos can be found HERE.
Top right are two new books from Ferrari, the '2006 Ferrari Yearbook'- 1 COPY LEFT and the companion '2006 Ferrari Racing Activities'-SOLD OUT. These official Factory publications are in very short supply and extremely collectible, especially as Michael Schumacher takes his final curtain call. $90.00 each plus shipping.
The black and white photograph above left shows a brace of Mercedes-Benz W196 Streamliners before the start of the 1954 French Grand Prix at Reims. It is one of more than 1,300 images featured in the forthcoming memoirs of long time racing photojournalist Bernard Cahier. 'F-Stops, Pit Stops, Laughter & Tears' ($149.00) is a massive 768 page,142,000 word 2 volume set. Only 600 will be available in the US. Details HERE.

3/26/07UPDATE: The corrected list of 2007 model releases by Minimax has now been posted HERE. You can also download the list as a PDF File. the most infamous sports car race in history because of the crash

Birdcage Maserati and Briggs Cunningham's Corvette. 24 minutes. Wyss's previous book on Carroll Shelby ("Shelby's Wildlife:
The Cobras and Mustangs"), written 30 years ago, sold more

like a fun read. Includes small, but well captioned black and

3/16/07 UPDATE: We're big fans of the artwork of John Ketchell and have featured his limited edition giclees here at TMC for a couple of years now. Recently, Ketchell switched publishers and as a result of various factors, has raised prices of his existing titles across the board. We have a very nice selection of giclees on paper in stock that we can offer to you at the original price ($140.00 plus shipping). A list of available prints can be found HERE. These prints are available first come, first served. Future orders will be filled at the new price (estimated to be $180 - $200 for a giclee on paper). We will try to keep this list accurate to avoid hard feelings, but we will be participating in the 26h Annual Ferrari Literature, Art and Model Expo this Saturday, March 17 from 9am to 4pm so we probably won't be able to update the list until Monday.
The 2007 Formula One season got underway today as practice for the Australian GP began down under. Minichamps announced their 2007 F1 die cast program this week. Click the banner below for the full list. As experienced collectors know, these models won't start appearing until the end of the year but we are offering a 10% discount on all pre-orders received by May 1. It's not too early to jump on the Lewis Hamilton bandwagon after his impressive first day in Melbourne!

3/13/07 UPDATE: The wild looking machine pictured above is Auto Art's new 1/18 scale G'zox Mugen NSX as raced in the 2003 Japanese Grand Touring Championship (JGTC) series ($104.95). It has been released in a limited edition of 3000 pieces, each with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity (we're seeing low numbers here). Although this is one of Auto Art's 'sealed body' cars, the polished chrome and black body and additional graphics are stunning.

The 1/18 scale David Coulthard Red Bull RB2 ($79.95) arrived today along with the 1/12 scale Nicky Hayden and Max Biaggi 2005 MotoGP Hondas ($69.95 each) along with other assorted goodies. Photos of all of today's new arrivals can be found on the New Die Cast page.

3/5/07 UPDATE: CMC's new Auto Union Type C Hillclimber is now available ($249.00). Although we can't put it side by side with previous Type C versions from CMC, as always, the quality and level of detail reaches higher levels with each new release. We expect the arrival of CMC's Limited Edition Maserati Tipo 61 ' Birdcage' chassis in a few days. Only a few pieces remain from our initial shipment ($175.00). Two other German racers arrived from Minichamps late last week. Photos of everything have been uploaded to our New Diecast page.
The other day, we told you about the newly released 6 disc DVD set 'Great Cars' ($44.95). After reviewing the entire 9 1/2 hours of programing on this boxed set in the Gallery last week, we have to name it our 'sleeper of the month' (if not the year). Included in the main marque episodes (Ferrari/Alfa Romeo, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Mustang/Cobra/GT40 and Corvette) and buried in the Special Features of each disc is a treasure trove of original factory films such as 'Tribute to Fangio' , 'Porsche 917' and '1971 Nurburgring 1000k', bonus episodes like the 'Silver Arrows' and documentary films such as 'Zora Arkus Duntov and the Experimental Chevrolet Corvette SS' (the main Corvette episode has color footage of the car racing at Elkhart Lake!) and 'Birth of the Mustang'. It's one of the best DVD bargains in our entire inventory. Order now!
