3/21/06 UPDATE: Carousel 1's latest release is the Sheraton Thompson Special Lotus 38 driven by AJ Foyt for a short distance in the 1966 Indianapolis 500. Foyt got caught up in that famous first lap crash and suffered the incident's only injury when he cut his hand climbing the outside front straight fence to safety. Our first shipment is scheduled to arrive this week ($139.95).
One of the most popular series of 1/43 scale models on the market today are the 1/43 scale LeMans Winners Collection from IXO. 3/18/06 UPDATE: We've been waiting for these for a looooooong time. The 1/18 scale Yardley McLaren M23s of Denny Hulme and Peter Revson are finally showing up as a late April release on the Minichamps production schedule. Ever since CMC announced their 1/18 scale Maserati 250F, collectors have wondered about a Fangio 1957 German Grand Prix version. Originally, we were expecting a late 2005 release but due to the extraordinary demand on the current range of CMC models, that release has been pushed back to 2007. If you've already pre-ordered one from us, don't worry we'll keep your information on file. We're too far out to give you a firm price but expect an increase over the $209.95 that we originally heard. If you can't wait, we still have a few of the original CMC Maserati 250F release at $199.95.
We now have replacement dust jackets for the 2005/06 Autocourse F1 annuals for those of you who received a 'less than perfect' dj on your Christmas shipment copy. Give us a call or drop us an email and we'll send you a fresh one asap.

3/17/06 UPDATE: This 8x10 color photo of Mario Andretti in the Lotus 78 at Long Beach during his Championship season just arrived. It's been matted out to fit a standard 11/14 frame and the mat has been autographed by Mario. What makes this item special is the fact that Mario no longer signs this way. He signs so much these days that his autograph has been reduced to a couple straight lines after the M and the A. This is how the 1978 World Champion signed in the 70s and 80s. Click the image for a close up of the autograph. $95.00 plus shipping.

During a recent trip to the UK, we touched base with several of the artists that have been featured here at TMC over the years and in the coming days and weeks we will be adding the latest examples of their work to www.MotorsportCollector.com. Brits (from top left) Craig Warwick, Christopher Dugan and Andrew Kitson have been producing some terrific originals and prints (at prices that are quite reasonable) that we think you'll like. And, I think they may have a Jim Clark piece (or three) you'd be proud to hang on your wall.

3/14/06 UPDATE: The third volume of 'Minichamps: A Passion for Model Cars' has just arrived ($35.95). Volume 3 features 'road cars' and includes hundreds of photos, an interview with Paul Lang, a sneak preview of the Minichamps Museum, a traveller's guide to Aachen. Germany, home to PMA Minichamps and a complete list of all road cars produced by Minichamps.
Check out our Hard To Find Diecast page for a selection of recent acquisitions. Some are quite unusual.

3/8/06 UPDATE: One of the most collectible motor racing prints in the world is Alan Fearnley's 'Sunset at LeMans'. It was the first print released by Grand Prix Sportique in 1983 and served to commemorate the 1-2 finish by the Rothmans Porsches at LeMans that year. 'Sunset at LeMans' also launched the concept of driver signed limited edition artwork. Each copy was hand signed by LeMans legends Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell. The copy pictured above is 82/850 and is being offered at $975.00 nicely framed.
The Art Cross 1955 Belanger Special Kurtis Roadster we told you about a few days ago has arrived from Carousel 1. Pre-orders shipped today. In stock. $119.95 plus shipping.
SOLD3/7/06 UPDATE: We've been keeping Automotive Folk Artist Stu Povick pretty busy with commissions lately but every once in a while, he will surprise us with something unusual. The latest arrival is this clay sculpture of Mario Andretti's 1972 Parnelli VPJ-1 (SOLD), which appeared at Indy with radical 'dihedral' wings in May of 1972. The wings were later scrapped and Mario finished 8th in the Indy 500. For additional photos, visit Stu's Page. Commissions for Spring 2006 are now being accepted.

3/2/06 UPDATE: New arrivals from Minichamps include the 1/43 scale McLaren Mercedes MP4/20 of Juan Pablo Montoya and the 1/43 scale Red Bull RB1 of the first American to compete in Formula One in more than a decade: Scott Speed. We also received the Limited Edition Benetton Ford B188 of Sandro Nannini, part of Minichamps's Benetton Formula One Collection. Photos on the New Die Cast page. The 1/18 Jordans (the final Jordans!) of Monteiro and Karthikeyan are also in stock ($69.95 each). We'll post photos on Friday.
