2/20/06 UPDATE: This one made my day. The Automotive Fine Arts Society and Automobile Quarterly have published the best automotive art book that's ever crossed my desk. Published to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the AFAS annual art exhibition at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Gerry Durnell and the staff of AQ spent eight months assembling and designing 'A Celebration of Automotive Art'. The result is a masterpiece that will become one of the most treasured books in your collection. You'll find yourself carefully removing this 316 page epic from its sturdy slipcase on a regular basis to treat yourself to some of the most beautiful images of classic and racing cars ever produced.
Profiles of all 29 active artists of the AFAS are followed by a porfolio of their best work. Artists such as Bill Neale, Jay Koka, Peter Hearsey, Lawrence Braun, Ken Dallison, James Dietz, Charles Maher, Jack Juratovic, Dennis Hoyt are joined by past masters such as Walter Gotschke, John Burgess, Carlo Demand and Peter Helck.
Regardless if you just have a poster tacked to your garage wall or a full collection of original automotive art, you will receive years of enjoyment from this book!
$125.00 plus shipping. We have a sample copy in the Gallery and will start shipping orders later this week.

2/14/06 UPDATE: It's that time of year again. The major model manufacturers have unveiled some fabulous new subjects at the major shows in Nurnburg and New York earlier this month. We'll start posting highlights from Minichamps, Auto Art and others later this week but today, some new photos of the 1/18 scale CMC Birdcage Maserati were released and we've posted them HERE. Our first shipment of this model is expected in late March or April. CMC has set the price at $245.00. When you see the photos, you'll agree that this one is worth every penny - and more. Reserve now. Just to tease you a bit: Minichamps has announced a pair of 1/18 scale Lotus 79s as driven in 1978 by World Champion Mario Andretti and the late Ronnie Peterson ($79.95 each). No JPS markings, but a model that is long overdue. Auto Art will do a series of 1/12 scale D-Type Jaguars, including the 1955 LeMans winner ($399.95) and 1/18 scale replicas of the Aston Martin DB9Rs that raced at Sebring and LeMans in 2005. We'll also see (hopefully) several of the long-lost Porsche 908/2s and 908/3s from Auto Art this year.
Watch for more news by the weekend.

2/3/06 UPDATE: Today we went back and added a few items to the New Die Cast page that for one reason or another did not make it when they actually arrived. Highlights include some of Minichamps' fine 1/12 scale Classic Bike Series releases. Very limited quantities available.
Next week we will post the Minichamps 2006 New Release offerings for pre-order. Visit us often.
