1/30/06 UPDATE: The first US copies of Michel Bollee and Willem Oosthoek's latest collaboration 'Maserati Tipo 151: The Last Monster from Modena' ($99.95) have arrived from France. This impressive reference book on the three Tipo 151 Coupes built in the early 1960s and raced a total of 27 times in Europe and the United States contains hundreds of previously unseen photos in color and black and white along with complete race results and full technical specifications. If you're interested in early 60's sports car racing, this book would make a fine addition to your collection.

1/24/06 UPDATE: Additional 1/43 scale 2005 Formula One releases from Minichamps have been added to the New Die Cast page along with the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Presentation Car ($44.95) seen above. For those of you who have been patiently awaiting the arrival of the 2005 Goodwood Revival DVD, we hope to have some good news for you on Thursday, Customs permitting.
1/21/06 UPDATE: As part of the collection of Out of Print Ferrari books we acquired recently, we are offering a complete set (up to November 2005) of the excellent Ferrari magazine 'Forza', 65 issues in all. It can be yours for just $250.00 plus shipping. We've seen a couple of price changes in items offered in our 2005 Holiday Newsletter. To keep you advised of the price and availability status of everything in our latest flier, we've posted an Update page and will keep it current as best we can. Die cast prices especially may become volative in the future due to the changing Chinese economy.

1/19/06 UPDATE: Another busy day here at TMC! Lots of new arrivals, including some great LeMans 1/43s by IXO, Spark and Bizarre. Photos on the New Die Cast page. Today's Minichamps arrivals (including the Alan Jones 1980 World Championship winning Williams FW07B) will be posted tomorrow. We've added a second list of VHS Clearance items from Duke Video, this one listing the final copies of Formula One and LeMans Review videos. When these are gone, that 's it. Some years are sold out already. Others have less than 5 copies left. Some must have been tucked away in a corner because I don't think we ever stocked them before (1988 LeMans Review - $19.95). Again, we hope to see some of these titles on DVD eventually, but at these prices, you may as well squirrel away a fresh VHS copy.

1/18/06 UPDATE: Back in November of
2004, we posted a notice here mentioning that we had heard that
Formula 1 Review videos prior to 2002 were being discontinued
and taken off the market in Europe. It took a bit longer than
we thought, but this moratorium has just crossed over to our side
of the pond. One of our main suppliers of racing videos (Kultur/Duke
Video) has just announced that they have discontinued ALL
VHS format videos - including all of the FIA Formula One Review
videos from 1993 to 2001 as well as the bulk of the LeMans Review
videos and numerous other popular programs. The bad news is, although
negotiations are taking place (some with Mr. Ecclestone) to release
some of these titles on DVD, many of these titles will probably
never be available again. The good news is, we've acquired the
remaining inventory of many of these popular titles. We're offering
most of these titles on essentially a 'Buy One, Get One Free'
rate. Click HERE for the list.

1/17/06 UPDATE:
A few weeks ago, one of the behind the scenes giants of
Formula One racing history passed away in England. Keith Duckworth
(along with Mike Costin) formed Cosworth Engineering in 1958.
With backing from Ford Motor Company, they introduced the Ford
Cosworth DFV in June o
f
1967 and found immediate success plugged into Jim Clark's Lotus
49. The combination won first time out in the Dutch Grand Prix
at Zandvoort. Back in 1991, Grand Prix Sportique published 'Winning
Combination' by Alan Fearnley, a limited edition of 850 signed
and numbered prints each hand signed by Keith Duckworth. Amazingly,
this print is still available for just $85.00 plus shipping.
Good news for collectors of World Champion diecast. Minichamps has just released a 1/43 scale Williams FW07B as driven by Alan Jones to the 1980 World Driving Championship (with one of those old Ford Cosworths bolted on). The model features a removable body and detailed engine, as did their previous 1979 FW07. Both Alan Jones and Carlos Reutemann versions ( $39.95 each) will arrive by the weekend along with a few other new goodies from Minichamps.
Speaking of Minichamps, they've just notified dealers that they will produce 2006 McLaren test cars with orange paint jobs. Four drivers (Kimi, JPM, de la Rosa and Paffet) in two scales (1/18 - $69.95, 1/43-$34.95) were announced. Reserve now for Spring (?) delivery. These will probably be the only Test Cars we stock this year. Others will be available by special order only.
GMP has just announced a competition version of their beautiful 1/12 scale 289 Cobra roadster. the black #99 chassis CSX 2137 driven to victory by Bob Bondurant at Riverside in 1963. Only 750 will be produced, delivery beginning in May. $499.95. We'll have photos for you when we launch our 2006 'Coming Attractions' page later this week.
We ordered a very small quantity of 2006 Autocourse Grand Prix Calendars for those of you who requested them after our initial supply ran out. There are only a few left. And, we're down to two 2006 Motocourse Calendars. First come, first served.
1/16/06 UPDATE: This afternoon we uploaded a great list of out of print books on Ferrari from a collection aquired recently. There are some great finds there in all price ranges. More books from the same collection will be uploaded soon along with a fresh book list.
1/11/06 UPDATE: Not all the 'sneak previews' are at the Detroit Auto Show this week! The above photo shows a prototype of CMC's stunning new 1/18 scale Birdcage Maserati, scheduled for release in the spring. We're told that this car (the Team Camoradi Type 61 Chassis 2461 driven by Dan Gurney and Stirling Moss to victory in the Nurburgring 1000K in May of 1960, according to Willem Oosthoek's 'Maserati Tipo 63-64-65: Birdcage to Supercage' - $140.00, in stock now - ) will be the first version available. Price is TBA, but is expected to be north of $200.00 (and well worth it, from the photo). We are accepting advance reservations.
Also from CMC - The company has increased the price of their Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinetta effective January 15th.

1/9/06 UPDATE: Last call! We're down to our last few copies of the 2006 Motor Sport Calendar. This year's theme is '100 Years of Grand Prix Racing' and the folks at Motor Sport dug deep into the archives of LAT photographic for a grand total of 25 fantastic black and white and color images to represent the past century of the highest form of motor racing. You have your choice of two pages (one color, one black and white) for each month of the year along with this spectacular color photo of the start of the 1967 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Each page is suitable for framing when 2007 rolls around. At $65.00 plus shipping, t's a bit higher priced than years past but you're getting twice as many images to enjoy all this year and beyond.
1/6/06 UPDATE: Today's new arrivals from Minichamps have been added to the New Die Cast page along with more than a dozen new 1/43 and 1/18 race and road cars that were delivered in late December. Take a good look at some of the low production numbers (500 pieces only) on two of the classic Ford models and the rare tobacco markings on the Jochen Rindt Gold Leaf Team Lotus 72. More late 2005 arrivals will be posted next week, including some great motorcycles from Minichamps. We'll also be adding some new Mark Donohue related memorabilia from the same collection as the other unique items we offered last year.
