SOLD1/27/05 UPDATE: One day back in late 1983, I was sitting at home minding my own business, reading the latest issue of Autosport when I saw an advertisement for a beautiful piece of artwork, available as a Limited Edition print. Of all things, the print was actually AUTOGRAPHED by drivers Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell! Wow, I said. I have to send away for one of these - if they're not sold out already!!! Well, I was able to get a copy of 'Sunset at LeMans' by Alan Fearnley before it sold out and less than 2 years later, I started The Motorsport Collector, primarily to import racing prints by Fearnley and Michael Turner. 'Sunset at LeMans' was the first release by a company called Grand Prix Sportique and it launched the concept of driver signed prints, which grew rapidly in popularity throughout the 80s and early 90s.
More than 20 years later, that copy of 'Sunset at LeMans' still hangs on my office wall here at TMC and is one the most treasured prints in my collection.
Once every couple of years, we're able to offer a copy of this rare and significant piece of motor racing history. I'm happy to say that we've just acquired a nicely framed copy of 'Sunset at LeMans'. It is available for $975.00 plus shipping. SOLD For additional photos, click HERE.
1/24/05 UPDATE: Good news for all you patient LeMans and Mazda fans out there. The long awaited 1/43 scale 1991 LeMans winning Mazda 787B has finally been released by Minichamps ($64.95). 1/21/05 UPDATE: We've posted photos of some of the new 1/43 scale models that arrived from Minichamps this week on the New Die Cast page. Several 2004 Formula One cars (including the 'end of an era' Mark Webber Jaguar) are here, along with some 2004 DTM Mercedes and and Historic pieces. We'll be uploading more photos over the weekend and early next week. LOTS of great new models are arriving every week.
The 1/18 scale Brumos Porsche 917/10, just arrived in the US and is expected at TMC very soon.
PORSCHE ENTHUSIASTS: Copies of two very desireable Alan Fearnley limited edition prints 'Sunset at LeMans' and 'Putting the Cat Out'(SOLD), commemorating the victories of Rothmans Porsches at LeMans in 1983 and 1987 respectively, have just been acquired by TMC. Call Paul for details.

1/12/05 UPDATE: Three new Green Light 1/18 scale 2004 IRL die cast are now available. They include 2004 Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice's Rahal Letterman G-Force, Adrian Fernandez and Scott Dixon. All three are priced at $39.95 each. More photos on the New Die Cast page.

Left: 'Fight to the Finish' by Alan Fearnley depicts the duel between Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell at the 1991 Monaco Grand Prix. The entire edition was hand signed by Ayrton Senna. Right: 'Team Formation' by Michael Turner was published by The Motorsport Collector in 1990. The first 50 prints in the edition of 500 were signed by key members of Team McLaren's Can Am effort: Denis Hulme, Dan Gurney, Teddy Mayer, Tyler Alexander, Gordon Coppock and Phil Kerr. 1/6/05 UPDATE: Now in stock: The highly acclaimed new biography 'Vukovich' by Bob Gates is an in depth story of the the 2 time Indianapolis 500 winner who died tragically 50 years ago this May, and the two generations that followed him to the Brickyard ($35.00). Also, a new US hardbound edition of 'Bugatti Queen' by Miranda Seymour, the story of nude model turned racing driver Helle Nice has appeared. The UK hardbound that we had been offering, is now out of print. You even get to save a few bucks if you waited. The US version is just $24.95.
Those of you who have seen the ads in the UK racing press for '50 Years of Formula One On-Board' will be happy to hear that this fabulous new DVD will be available in US Format (NTSC) at The Motorsport Collector later this winter, probably in late February. A 'tentative' price of $34.95 has been set. We'll take orders and ship as soon as they are available.
